Hi and welcome to my “Blurb”. My name is Mary. I live in Kansas, USA. I’ve been on bMindful since November 2008 and I have come into contact with so many beautiful souls. I feel blessed and grateful that I stumbled onto this site. Don’t hesitate to leave me comments as I love to hear from you all.
I have only been introduced to affirmations for probably 2 years and enjoyed the success of using them with my business. However, now that I feel my business is under control, it is time to take care of myself. Between moving to a new state, the isolation of starting a new business, it was only recently that I “woke up” and discovered that somewhere over the last five years I have really lost my SELF. My goal is to rediscover what makes me happy and cultivate a healthy lifestyle filled with peace, joy and love.
Thank you for your kind thoughts. We had a lovely Thanksgiving and I hope yours was a pleasure also.
I have an gourmet style online store. Mainly my affirmations were very specific. I am making $(fill in the blank) per month easily and effortlessly.
I always chose very high numbers that couldn’t be explained away by a change in business practices. In fact, the things that happened were out of my control, such as magazines doing articles on my company… or large contracts coming my way without having done anything to seek them.
Sometimes, I would say to myself things like, “Body & Soul Magazine will write an article about us.” It wasn’t immediate, but say, three or four months later…I’d get a call from a customer saying they saw us in the magazine. It was quite thrilling.
Are you thinking of starting your own business? I would never work as a slave to a corporation again. It isn’t the same even if the money is. My favorite part of the business is the freedom and creativity I have…priceless!!
I hope this somewhat helps. -M
Thank you for your kind words. From the time I was little, I knew I wanted to own my own business. I am not very good at rigidity and rules. To me, it makes better sense to do what is right regardless of policy and procedures. I didn’t make a stellar employee, but as a business owner, I have found my niche!!
I was laid off from my job while on maternity leave with my fifth child (I’m no longer bitter!). There were no jobs to be found. However, the government has a fabulous program called “Workforce Investment Act” or WIA for short. They will pay 100% for tuition, books, supplies, etc for two years. You have write a little essay how it will make you employable again. I think it is for people who get laid off. I chose an Entrepreneurial Degree at the local community college. They work very closely with the Small Business Association and S.C.O.R.E. I was given many free things through the college, such as marketing help, financial/accounting help, legal advice…etc. There is so much free help out there, if you just know where to look / how to get it.
My husband is from another country. He always dreamed about selling artwork and housewares from his homeland. However, after doing some business analysis, we found out that the people are more interested in his country’s culinary history. As it turns out, he is a fabulous gourmant. So, we started importing gourmet oils & spices from his country. It turned out to work so well, that we both became full time at the business and eventually hired others and the rest is history.
For those seeking self employment, I highly recommend it. However, you have to be very risk oriented. AND… you have to love and believe with your whole heart about your business. There were days when it was just love and passion for my company that got me through the tough times. (and a firm belief that I was safe and all was well…thank you Louise Hay). Go in with your eyes wide open…and you will never be a corporate slave again!!

Hi Mary,
I love your profile, your intentions are very clear and working the affirmations you are on your way, I am sure of that! I read the posts here and you sound amazing with what you have accomplished. I am self employed, too, as I am not a fan of corporate world either. I am here to create a well balanced life for myself and my family and sounds like the company is just perfect!
Wishing you a beautiful and prosperous new year!
Eva
Hi again, MeditatingMama, what a beautiful note you sent to me. I love your appreciation for everything! And you’re right Fl. is beautiful. I once lived in Ca., and have missed mountains and variety of people from that period of time I was there. Though, I am grateful to be here now. Continue to write me, I enjoy the person you are.
Hello Mary, I’ve gotten a lot out of reading your profile and I think you have the most awesome business I’ve seen in a long time! I will take your advice and get some assistance in determining my next career step. I’ve had my own business for 23 years but I’ve outgrown it and just last week, decided that I must move on and up. I love people, music, education, fabulous food, beauty, and health. There’s got to be something there for me in all of that. So.. I’m into radical trust and fine-tuning my listening skills. So, I’m all ears…..
Thank you for the comment Mary. I thought up my user name because I prefer A LITTLE anonymity. For quite some time I have had on my wall a collection of 3 Mardi Gras peacock-colored feather masks (isn’t there another name for them?) and an acquired small framed relief Phantom of the Opera mask in the collection. Glad to be here and I love the positive stuff, which I don’t get nearly enough of in my life.
Hello Mary (MM),(:, Just spotted your caring message re: cheerleaders on this site. You are right this site is filled with support and unbelievable enthusiasm. And you have shown so beautifully how truly special and wise you are. I will never forget how you’ve shared your wisdom and your strength for my moving forward in a career that fits my experience and desires. To you, Mary my best!!!!!!!!(: And may your business, family and personal life always be in a place that brings you joy and peace.
Hi Mary thanks for the invite. As others have told you your business sounds interesting. % children wow I only had 2 and they were a handleful, and challange. All tho my parents had 10 of us. They are both 87 now even tho my moms health is not soo good they are still around an I am so gratefull for that. My mom is my closest friend. Being the middle child I helped to raise the ones under me… guess that had a lot to do with only having 2. But I do have 7 grands . I wish you the best with your family and business but mostly with your affirmations, funny how our minds respond so well to postive programming brings a smile to my face every time . Have a wonderful day and looking forward to a friendship with you.
Hi Mary, Thank you for adding me as friend. You’re right Goodyear is close to Phoenix. :) I will admit one of the reasons that my family and I moved here because of the weather.
I think that your affirmations are empowering. One of the ways to elevate your energy is to set the intention for the day. When you wake up, before you get out of bed state what you want you want your energy level to be like, and specifically state that you want this maintained throughout the day. There are a few more techniques that I’m aware of that work with energy level. I hope this helps, and I look forward to getting to know you.
Hi MM :) Thanks for your comment. YeS I also like that affirmation about remaining unaffected by negative attitudes. Im a singer/songwriter and there is always people who wont like your material or wont give you an opportunity, but the important thing is to stay focused on your dreams and not let people bring you down. Wish you the best of luck with your little business, always believe in yourself no matter what people say or how the economy is, “we are what we think” stay positive!!…Warm regards and thanks for your comment. ~PinkMariana
Hi, Mary!
Thank you very much for your positive thougts directed to me! I am glad that I can tell you I`ve got a job some of these days. And I am very satisfied with it! Last months, when I was looking for a job, I often remembered Louise Hay and her sentence: I the times of financial and economical crises always remember that it does not have to refer to you. You need just one job. It turns out just in that way!
Best regards and keep positive thougts!
Hi Mary! Thankyou so much for your loving thoughts on my profile. I am so excited that I met you on here.
You will certaintly enjoying reading books from Rosemary Altea! She is a such an amazing lady. My ‘spinning’ is explained in one of her books “YOU OWN THE POWER”, I was totally bursting with excitement when I stumped upon it whilst reading the book, I couldnt believe I had found the answer I had been looking for since I was sixteen. All the answers I have been wanting to know were in her books. I sort of (meaning a glimspe, black shadow movements and white figures) see spirits thou not in the form Rosemary can see, my house have loving spirits that come to me when they have something to share with me. Its quite extraordinary. I feel very blessed to have this intunement with them and I feel relief and excited knowing where I will be going when my time is up, everything will be ok.
The first book I read was The Eagle and The Rose, You Own The Power and Soul Signs.
Soul Signs book is a very interesting read, I recommend you read that too.
I wish you so much love Mary! You deserve ALL and EVERYTHING! I take my hat off to you with having 5 gorgous children, you are one special lady and I am so wrapt to have met you.
I looking foward to getting to know you, this site is awesome!
Lots of loving thoughts sent to you Dee

Hi Jeff, sorry for the delay in responding… leaving town soon and trying to catch up with work.
I love your lyrics!! And it is SOOOOOOO TRUE!!! I can’t wait to hear the rest!! Hope you ended up getting some sleep!! :)
Hi MM, thanks for adding me as a friend! Now that I think of it, it was when I “lost” mySelf that I finally started taking steps to “find” mySelf…and that HAS led to the inner peace, joy, health and love that now fill my days. So I have no doubt at all that you, girl, will have what you desire! Take care, Love, Ilana :-)
Dearest Love, hospice work is never rough for me, only rewarding. I am truly sorry for the loss of your mother. I am delighted to hear that your mother’s hospice person made all the difference for her and your family during her last days. Know that your mother is well on the other side. Thank you so much for your kind words. Love & blessings always, Gracey
Thank you for your kind words. It was a nice surprise to have someone welcome me to this site.
I am listening to Dr. Wayne Dyer’s book, “The Power of Intention.” He talks about abundance and that being worried about money or security can actually bring insecurity and not enough money into your life. I tend to be a worrier and have constant negative thoughts/tapes playing in my head that I need to reprogram or record over.
It is coincidental, or maybe it is the universe showing me that it will provide everything I need when I need it, that I have been searching for information on medititation today and you contacted me. I was just over at beliefnet trying to choose a meditation type. I am not religious or especially spiritual at present. My philosophy is I try to live by the golden rule. the practices that appealed to me are Tonglen, Mindfulness,Dzogchen, Loving Kindness, Insight and Walking. What type(s) do you practice. I would enjoy any wisdom or advice you would be willing to direct me to or provide.
Thank you again for your kind words.
Kim
Hi Mary, Thanks for comments and your comments on my profile. I just joined yesterday. I’m still learning what’s this site has to offer and just now getting to write a few affirmations, a few things about myself and checking out the forum. I couldn’t resist making a few forum comments.
I once used ‘TheMysticLady’ for profiles all the time. I stopped so I could use my real name Shirl. I am using the word here, in the spirit of affirmation, because I wish to reclaim myself as a mystic. The word mystic can denote many things to many people … a person who is a seer, a sensitive, empathic, a bit intuitive, odd or even outer worldly weirdo. I’m been called all of these but I’ve also been seen as a compassionate spiritual teacher, thoughtful poet and a great writer. Thanks for seeing something on the deeper side. I am 60 (much younger looking still) and connect to spirit in much different ways now but as a small child I could ‘communicate’ and ‘see’ beyond the physical into what I considered, even then, to be the real world … the world of spirit … and of fastly vibrating energies. I could even see the auras and vibration of life within inanimate objects. It was magical and wondrous to see such things but, still, the physical world seemed surreal and detached from me. Affirmations have become a wonderful resource for adaptation.
LOL You’re welcome! Which ability? Seeing life vibrations in ‘things’? Or was your mom a psychic? I’m more of an empath … I am hypersensitive to changes in energy. I get moments of prophetic flashes but I am not a reader … I guess I could be but I’m a writer so I use the ‘flow’ to channel from higher self. Everyone has gifts though. You may not have your mother’s talents but you are still quite intuitive.
Hey MM, I still haven’t finished re-doing my computer, I’m just checking to say hi. It’ll be a few more days. I bought a new external hard drive and am loading a new operating system, but I’m kinda slow at it. I got a terra-byte hard drive, that way It will hold a lot of music data. I will have a bit of a learning curve on this software, but I hope I can make some decent music for you guys.
In response to themysticlady’s comment:
I’m working on becoming a writer. What kind of things do you write?
Hi MM! Checked out Rumi as you suggested. Inspired! If only I could appreciate the rhythmicality and nuances it must have in the beautiful language of Persia. That said, the English translations speak volumes. Its been a while since I have read such a magical way of viewing and appreciating the world. You are a wise owl MM! I look forward to learning more from you!! Warmth, light, love and blessings. xx
Hi MM! Hope you are well. Just wondered if you could advise me on books relating to the secret to steer clear of. There seems to be an awful lot of spin offs and some are good - merely different interpretations for Byrne’s modern classic.
I have the Jack Canfield one and read Bill Harris online - all good but some I am skeptical of….I know its good to spend money on these teachings and am committed to supporting the sharing of the Secret, but dont want to spend unneccessarily - you know what I mean?
I know your wisdom will guide my reading choices beautifully! Lots of love to you MM. xx
Hey There Motivating Mary! How are you these days. Seen you waft your wonderful presence around the site, but havent stopped by to wish you my best - until now! Wishing you my warmest wishes as always and hoping your life is filled with love, faith and happiness. God Bless you, you wonderful woman! Love, Anoushka

Hey MM! Saw you online and just want to say that I am so happy that your hubby is coming home on 29th. All the very best and hope you have plenty of love saved up for each other. Be good to each other and get back to reading Rumi together and cooking with all the wonderful spices he brings home!!!! I bet the kids are syked! Lots of love to you as always MM! God Bless. x ;o)
Hi MM,
Thank you for your comments-altho I did not author the gratitute affirmations I chose, I considered them a good way to begin my day, as I am challenged by some low-grade depression at the moment and needed to do something tangible to start turning it around. Thus, this morning my search led me to the bmindful website and I will be returning to it frequently! Since I’m not familiar with this site, how did you happen to see the affirmations I chose for myself? As you can probably tell, I don’t even know how to navigate this site yet; I orig sent this msg to myself! :) Tomgirl
Thank you so very much for your encouraging comments. After a week of affirmations, prayer and some guided meditations I found online, I began feeling better this past week. This evening I returned from 4 days of horse camping with a group of very good friends-I was relaxed, peaceful and grounded and it felt SOOOOOO good! Nature and horses (or any beloved pets)are such great therapy and I’m lucky to have (read choose) wonderful, loving and supportive friends and to have been blessed with a wonderful family as well.. Thanks again for your kind thoughts!
Hello Mary, We’ve been a little slowing in getting to all the site of bmindful members, but your number just came up :-).. No not the Lotto :-))… We are finding the education on Zamouri Spices delightful. We have been moving toward a more organic diet which as you know includes the use of many eastern spices. thanks for B-ingMindful Namaste`
Hi there! My name is Derek,or gr8full,whichever you like.I just got your comment today after not logging into this site for 8 months at least.]een working a lot and putting everything before my well~being, when my spiritual security should be #1.However your comement prompted an email from this site telling me to read it,so I have to thank you so much for that.So first off thanks for your kind words in your comment. They made my day.Secondly don’t hesitate to msg me or comment on my profile anytime as I love hearing positive words(or at least reading them, lol) because my work environment is probably the nasty~est (is that even a word?) Most negetive place I’ve ever been on my life journey…EVER!!! So I have to say I love the affirmation about your thoughts. And words being what’s creating positive energy in your life at this moment…Sorry I didn’t type it correctly but I’m on my smart phone and it takes forever to scroll back to the top where your affirmations are.Anyway best of luck in your journey and please pray for me if you would,as I’m having a difficult time. Thanks a lot.
Wow you have great affirmations, I feel the need to add you as a friend. I am fairly new to bmindful and I see that you have been very busy with it. I sense these affirmations are very powerful for you, I intend to use them with your blessing and friendship. I appreciate that you are here and and I am grateful for your posts. thank you
I’m glad to find good people too, but I think we bump into space of bad people in our everyday life - that too with a definite choice :).
After searching for years, I found the “KriyaYoga” practice giving me unconditional happyness. The simple things in life are ignored by our ego - that’s the secret. Learn more on http://kriyayogababaji.org/
Looking forward…
In response to Be Smylee’s comment: Wow Be Smilee, MeditatingMama does have great affirmations. Thanks for bringing them to my attention today(: And yes, MM, if you’re reading this…much happiness always(:
