I am a retired, divorced 64 year old living in a condo (with swimming pool, gym and racquetball) in Covington, WA just south of Seattle. I was a former securities analyst and portfolio manager in Boston, NYC and San Francisco. I’ve had a blessed and exciting life with some great jobs in some exciting and beautiful cities. My passions now are photography (nothing forces you to slow down and look at the world like photography), the stock market(I am totally addicted to it, I love it)and cooking great meals (my father was a well-known chef at places such as the Waldorf Astoria in New York City) and trying to stay fit and healthy. I am a Christian and my faith is an important part of my life. Favorite things: my 2 grandaughters, age 3 and 5.
Hello Bueny1 and welcome to bMindful. I’m glad you decided to share your profile. You are so lucky to live in such a beautiful area of the US. Hopefully you are near those two precious granddaughters!! I’m not so lucky… mine is 1200 miles away from me. :( Take Care!! I look forward to hearing more from you in the future.
In response to anoushka_f’s comment: Thanks. How do I “check out the threads” you mentioned in your note?
Bueny1 I’ve noticed that the past few days, you and I are “online” at the same time, so I took a look at your profile. Wow! Lots of affirmations! When I read that you live in Covington, it reminded me of when I was a teenager. I went to Europe with the United States Collegiate Winds Band, playing trumpet. The band was made up of students from all of the US and Canada. One of the connections that I made on that trip was Julie, a girl from Lake Steven’s, Washington. We stayed in touch for a few years, and when I was 19, having gotten on with Northwest Airlines, I had the opportunity to fly out and spend a week with Julie and see some of the beautiful state of Washington. It’s been a few years now, but the things that are most memorable to me, aside from Julie’s super friendly personality, and the kind & gracious hospitality of her family, are the Wenatchee Apple Festival, the Ferry boat ride across the Puget Sound, and the drive up to Mount Rainier - and how quickly the climate can change if you hop in the car and drive out of the low cloud cover! Regrettably, I’ve long since lost touch with Julie, but the time that I spent with her and her family in the beautiful state of Washington, will always hold fond memories for me! Welcome to the community! I too just recently joined and I love this site!
Bueny1, I just chanced upon your profile and man u surely are leading a great life. Having passions like photography and cooking can keep you so very occupied and the best thing about them is that the results of your hard work are there for all to see (smell) and appreciate. You truly are blessed. I am sure your granddaughters are very proud and lucky to have you in their lives.
Keep posting. Your opinions and views on various discussion platforms are being looked forward to:o)
