I know a guy that has those kind of christmas lights that light up to the music. He has a little radio transmitter in his house hooked up to an antenna. He plays christmas music and broadcasts it. There is a sign in his yard that tells you what station to dial in while you’re in your car, that way you can sit in your car and watch the lights flash to the music on your radio. Pretty cool, huh. He lives in Vicksburg, MS. I think he has a video on youtube, but I’m not sure. It’s really a big deal in Vicksburg, the city sends a cop to direct traffic because of all the traffic in front of his house.

Although I hate x-mas songs, I have one I can live with. Not only the song but also the context counts here. In the old days, after I’d done all my groceries and the wines and champagne for the planned dinners, I somehow always managed to hear Driving Home for X-mas by Chris Rea on the car stereo. Knowing that I was taking good care of my loved ones and had literally all the ingredients for a good holiday, this song always made me smile ear to ear.

I thought you might like to hear the original version of
White Christmas
When Bing Crosby recorded this song the Ken Darby Singers consisting of Ken Darby, John Dodson, Bud Linn, Rad Robinson (my father in-law) were later called the “Kings Men” You can hear my father in-law when the harmony starts he is the baritone and also whistles.
I actually started to cry happy tears when I heard this, I can hear my father-in-law so clearly.
Thank you for this post.
God Bless You and Yours this holiday season and for the New Year.

Happy Holidays…. These are the holidays that I see coming up in the United States…Thanksgiving (November 22), Hanukkah(December 8-16 ), Christmas (December 25),Kwanzaa (December 26th-January 1). Feel free to share holidays or celebrations I’m missing this season.

Holidays Other Than Christmas celebrated this time of year:
- Hanukkah 2012: December 8-16 For eight days each November or December, Jews light a special candleholder called a menorah…among other festive things.. They do it to remember an ancient miracle in which one day’s worth of oil burned for eight days in their temple.
- ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
- “ Kwanzaa Kwanzaa, or “First Fruits of the Harvest, is an African-American and Pan-Africian holiday which celebrates and strengthens community, family and culture over a period of seven days. Kwanzaa begins December 26th. Each day, a principle of Kwanzaa is celebrated:
- December 26 Unity
- December 27 Self-Determination
- December 28 Collective Work & Responsibility
- December 29 Cooperative Economics
- December 30 Purpose
- December 31 Creativity
- January 1 Faith
