The vision I have for this thread is sharing 1 Song (or more) a Day. The goal is for bmindfulers to find a moment in their lives to listen to 1 song that has been suggested by another member, whenever they can.
thread from 2009(:
Now 2017:
[many links may not work, we’ll just have to do something about that) (: it started as 1 song a day, and most of us couldn’t contain ourselves and we had to add some more… here or on 1 of the many other music threads.
though beyond listening to music… I love looking at the party we were having.
Let’s party again(:

OK twist my arm, I’ll go first(:
We didn't care what this song was about... We knew the words and had fun
We'd pick out a phrase...say it with feeling ... like it meant something for us from the heart...
here's the album version
BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN
-I have Bruce songs on other threads, I only added this one to Laurie’s Power Songs the other day. And my 1 song, long song I give to you as my gift in this thread
I’ve mentioned elsewhere, 1st time I ever heard of Bruce and listened to him was almost 35 years ago. A friend in college had him on the turntable, and I looked at her, as to say what got you listening to him? And I wasn’t being kind.
She invited me to his concert, and I was in the midst of politely turning her down, but she made me an offer. She said, if you don’t like this concert, I’ll give you your money back. She never got her money back and Bruce has been keeping me company through all of my travels for years and delight.
And if you’ve never seen him in concert, watch the video, crank it up. After you watch him, tape it so you can put on head phones and take in all parts of this. There is always more story, more instruments, more and different choruses as the song progresses, than you’d imagine.
His older music was what I really liked (about 35 years older (: ) This is what this concert is from-> 1975, in London.
I saw him on the East Coast in 1975. And on the West coast in 1976. I have to admit, if you’ve ever been to a Bruce concert, at the time->there was a feeling of there not being much more when you were listening. Somehow (in person), he and his band kept everyone mesmerized.
Back then, we were very lyric minded, and we trusted Bruce. We knew he knew he knew what he was talking about, and we enjoyed his ride, and made it our own. You didn’t have to understand all of the lyrics, they somehow made sense when you learned them. *You sang them like they were poetry, whether they were meaningless to you or not*(:

Day 2 of a song a day(:
Another one from the year I was introduced to Bruce-1975. Again he’s playing in London here.
Kitty’s Back part 1
Kitty’s Back part 2 great sax w/the band’s legendary Clarence Clemons and great overall jam session:
both links missing -so here's another:
- ~~~~~~~~~~~~
Day 3 (for me) of a song a day
Landslide -Fleetwood Mac
A song that many have remade;though I’ve always liked Stevie’s version. She wrote it and Fleetwood Mac were the originals on this.
-
- ~~~~~~~~~~~~
Day 4 (for me) with sharing a song a day.
This song is from Jefferson Starship. It was a hot love song from 1976.
With Your Love
-
- ~~~~~~~~~~~~
One of my favorites from Bruce Springsteen that I have on other bmindful list. (Just wanted to make sure I pointed your focus to this Bruce-song)
10th Avenue Freezeout
Later version same song-10 Avenue Freeze Out
Springsteen 10th Avenue Freeze Out with surprise performance from the legendary Clarence Clemmons
This was sung a bit later, after sax-player Clarence was no longer a regular. That’s why this performance was so special. Clarence surprised Bruce on stage at this concert.
-
- ~~~~~~~~~~~~
I figured I could get away w/2 songs, since it’s the same group and the same song.

I knew you would like that. I’m posting it on a lot of my facebook friends’ pages.
Facebook can be useful as long as you don’t fall into the “traps”. There are all kinds of little games and things that can be a complete waste of valuable time and energy. It can be very useful for keeping up with your true friends and for making new friends. I used to try to respond to all of the silly requests for “hugs” or other things like that, but if you just ignore all that crap you’ll be fine.

The Voice
I couldn’t find a good version on youtube, but I LOVE this tune.
Here are the lyrics.
Won’t you take me back to school?
I need to learn the golden rule.
Won’t you lay it on the line?
I need to hear it just one more time.
Oh, won’t you tell me again?
Oh, can you feel it?
Oh, won’t you tell me again tonight?
Each and every heart it seems,
Is bounded by a world of dreams.
Each and every rising sun,
Is greeted by a lonely one.
Oh, won’t you tell me again?
Oh, can you feel it?
Oh, won’t you tell me again tonight?
Cause out on the ocean of life my love.
There a so many storms we must rise above.
Can you hear the spirit calling, as it’s carried across the waves?
You’re already falling it’s calling you back to face the music.
And the song that is coming through.
You’re already falling the one that it’s calling is you.
Make a promise take a vow.
And trust your feelings it easy now.
Understand The Voice within.
And feel a change already begin.
Oh, won’t you tell me again?
Oh, can you feel it?
Oh, won’t you tell me again tonight? Tonight?
Oh, won’t you tell me again?
Oh, can you feel it?
Oh, won’t you tell me again tonight?
And how many words have I got to say?
And how many times will it be this way?
With your arms around the future and your back up against the past.
You’re already falling it’s calling you on to face the music.
And the song that is coming through.
You’re already falling the one that it’s calling is you.
Each and every heart it seems,
Is bounded by a world of dreams.
Each and every rising sun,
Is greeted by, a lonely, lonely one.
Won’t you tell me again?
Oh, can you feel it?
Oh, won’t you tell me again tonight?

Hey beachcoffee, there is a thread on here somewhere that shows you how to post a link.
Basically, you type a quotation mark, directly after the quotation mark type in the text that you want, then type another quotation mark directly after the last letter in your text, then type a colon directly after that, then past the web address you want to link to directly after the colon.

I was listening to my six year old sing a song today and had to look up the “real” lyrics. I thought I’d share this one…
Miley Cyrus – The Climb
The Climb lyrics
Songwriters: Alexander, J; Mabe, J;
I can almost see it
That dream I am dreaming
But there’s a voice inside my head saying
“You’ll never reach it”
Every step I’m taking
Every move I make feels
Lost with no direction
My faith is shaking
But I gotta keep trying
Gotta keep my head held high
There’s always gonna be another mountain
I’m always gonna wanna make it move
Always gonna be a uphill battle
Sometimes I’m gonna have to lose
Ain’t about how fast I get there
Ain’t about what’s waiting on the other side
It’s the climb
The struggles I’m facing
The chances I’m taking
Sometimes might knock me down
But no, I’m not breaking
I may not know it
But these are the moments that
I’m gonna remember most, yeah
Just gotta keep going
And I, I got to be strong
Just keep pushing on
‘Cause there’s always gonna be another mountain
I’m always gonna wanna make it move
Always gonna be a uphill battle
Sometimes I’m gonna have to lose
Ain’t about how fast I get there
Ain’t about what’s waiting on the other side
It’s the climb, yeah!
There’s always gonna be another mountain
I’m always gonna wanna make it move
Always gonna be an uphill battle
Somebody’s gonna have to lose
Ain’t about how fast I get there
Ain’t about what’s waiting on the other side
It’s the climb, yeah!
Keep on moving, keep climbing
Keep the faith, baby
It’s all about, it’s all about the climb
Keep the faith, keep your faith, whoa
I am living in many dimensions at once; the appearance of being trapped in time and space is only an illusion.

bare necessities
Look for the bare necessities
The simple bare necessities
Forget about your worries and your strife
I mean the bare necessities
Old Mother Nature’s recipes
That brings the bare necessities of life
Wherever I wander, wherever I roam
I couldn’t be fonder of my big home
The bees are buzzin’ in the tree
To make some honey just for me
When you look under the rocks and plants
And take a glance at the fancy ants
Then maybe try a few
The bare necessities of life will come to you
They’ll come to you!
Look for the bare necessities
The simple bare necessities
Forget about your worries and your strife
I mean the bare necessities
That’s why a bear can rest at ease
With just the bare necessities of life
Now when you pick a pawpaw
Or a prickly pear
And you prick a raw paw
Next time beware
Don’t pick the prickly pear by the paw
When you pick a pear
Try to use the claw
But you don’t need to use the claw
When you pick a pear of the big pawpaw
Have I given you a clue ?
The bare necessities of life will come to you
They’ll come to you!
So just try and relax, yeah cool it
Fall apart in my backyard
‘Cause let me tell you something little britches
If you act like that bee acts, uh uh
You’re working too hard
And don’t spend your time lookin’ around
For something you want that can’t be found
When you find out you can live without it
And go along not thinkin’ about it
I’ll tell you something true

La La Laurie, The first number from above was sooooo good. I really loved it and in a weird way, it makes me weepy. I’m putting it in my favorites and later on I want to check some of their other offerings. Thanks, Jan
