★How about top five movies of all time?

1. Unforgiven
2. The Godfather
3. The Lord of the Rings
4. Star Wars
5. Jaws

Maybe I should have made it 10 or 15, I’m leaving out too many good ones.

LOL! :)

OK here’s mine,

1. Fight Club

Then, in no particular order:

2. A Clockwork Orange
2. Amelie
2. Lost Highway
2. Mulholland Drive

Maybe. It’s hard to pick second best, even if there’s 4 of them, or 10, or 15 :) Fight Club is definitely #1 though!

WOW! I haven’t even seen Fight Club, but I’ve seen it mentioned a couple of times in some posts. I’ll have to check it out.

I haven’t seen Amelie or Lost Highway either!
Mullholland Drive is good.
Oh, and I didn’t even mention Pink Floyd’s The Wall.

top 5 ? Top 25 would be easier to come up with.

However after viewing others favorites I'm gonna say The Wizard Of OZ

and one other film that qualifies to be in my top 5. NETWORK a classic from 1976

1976 ironically was a year that produced many great high quality films indeed.

Also I think Cool Hand Luke is perhaps in my top 5

the graduate- the hustler- the sting- the pope of greenwich village- the gambler network high plains drifter three days of the condor
the lost weekend- the summer of 42 In the heat of the night
pacific heights- panic in needle park- and justice for all- taxi driver- (analyze this-Whatever works) comedies) primal fear the parralax view 1974

All these films very entertaining and many won Oscars, I would say most are must see. From my ability to spot quality films.

The whole Lord of the Rings trilogy are amongst my favourites

Anything that anyone gives attention to, becomes true

Ali MaGraw and Steve McQueen the getaway 1973

Same year as cool hand Luke, 1967  Paul Newman at his best movie titled HOMBRE

(Thief) starring james canne  1981

(Husbands and wives) Woody Allen and a cast of great actors/tress

This film is Richard Dryfess at his best  (Who's life is it any way) brilliant storyline. I had to rent it from youtube $499.     Another Dryfess as a lawyer with Streisand called (Knutt's )I think

It's a pleasant surprise when via serendipity I find great films. That's why it's advantageous to think you've seen all the quality movies. Case in point (Husband's and Wives) 1992 I would rate this NY film about 8 Woody Allens best film I found while looking for another film.

keep ‘em coming . You may be surprised how valuable it is to reinforce quality enjoyment.

In response to ♡ ˚Better & Better's post: That's a fact if I say the movie is entertaining, it is. Only problem  with that is the expectation factor. I think a decent film from the artists director ect is quality that's hard to find these days, with a few exceptions.

A good yet depressing film from the 70's I think  SUNSHINE  a true story, I could only watch 75% of it, was asking myself "What is this salty discharge coming from my eyes"

Gran Torino is one of my faves.

How about "Play misty for me" 1973

Clint Eastwood in his prime.  I can hear SRWE shouting

"your living in the past man" LoL

also in the same year C Eastwood directed a California film starring Kay Lens and William Holden

"Breezy"
