The most basic form of keeping it simple – Pray. Talk to God. Meditate (listen to God) and all complexities disperse and regenerate into their simplest forms.

Worry, for example. Worry is simply projecting situations out into the future where we cant ‘control’ the outcome. If it hasnt happened yet, why worry? Hand it over to God and pray to see the solution – it works for me.
The act of prayer takes all external materialistic issues and breaks them down and slows you down – therefore you get to address the simpler issues.

Simple attitudes are the best ones.

Having gratitude for your current situation, makes all the ‘excess’ pointless and not worth wasting energy on. Gratitude for the here and now is the simplest road to happiness, because you are not asking for what you dont have, you are simply ACKNOWLEDGING WHAT YOU DO HAVE, and therefore attracting more of the same. You become open to receive more because you have allowed God permission to give you more by being grateful…

God/the universe is there to provide what we need and desire – being open to receive through prayer is the simplest answer to all life’s questions. Ask and it shall be done…..Thank God, and you shall receive more. And most importantly prayer quietens down the ‘noise’ – the external garbage that stops you from seeing what is truly important…

I hope I havent waffled….All I am trying to say is live in the moment and keep it simple by letting God guide you – he knows whats best…..SIMPLE!!

A full and thankful heart..

It’s fascinating to me that you posted this thread, Laurie. Are you clairvoyant?

I’m Alright
Life Less Ordinary

Simplicity to me is being happy in a black turtle neck and blue jeans, enjoying a sparse- but clean house, driving a paid-for car, eating fresh- organic food, reading a good book, enjoying the company of friends and family, and taking life easy. I don’t want to spend more than I earn, eat more calories than I burn, or have drama (or stress) in a live that doesn’t need it. I don’t need more than I have. I am grateful for what has been given to me. :)

I am living in many dimensions at once; the appearance of being trapped in time and space is only an illusion.

In response to meditatingmama’s post:
What a wonderful picture you’ve painted(:

for me simplicity is feeling satisfied in what I have and not eyeing others for their possessions. Being simple in thought, attitude, speech, habits and expectations is my way of life. I am happy in my situation. finding happiness in the present is simplicity- look for the good- its simple.

We all live under the same sky, but we don’t all have the same horizon.

In response to SONIA’s post:
I love that Sonia. Look for the Good! That is simply beautiful. I like your outlook. Especially about having simple expectations. I truly believe that – because when you do, everything extra to that expectation is a bonus, which makes you happy!!! :o)
I am feeling happy today and moreso day by day from repeating my affirmations and feeling them manifest, praying, reading others’ great opinions and experiences on this site and by having simple expectations of my day – I always get more than I bargained for!!!

So I give to all bmindfullers, the song of this site (as Aftab says) and the song that makes me smile everytime I hear it….:

Jason Mraz – I’m Yours

Go on, have a smile on me bmindfullers

A full and thankful heart..

In response to anoushka_f’s post:
YES, definitly smiling.

…what a wonderful world….

Keeping it simple for me is to keep the clutter out. If it is at home, clear out the clutter.
Mainly I meant the clutter in the head though, kick out the clutter, kick out all the ‘if’s, ‘when’s , ‘but’s. They are the ones complicating things. And they are generally excuses generated out of fear….. of failing, or just of comming out of the comfort zone.
Keep it simple and do it.

…what a wonderful world….

In response to aftab’s post:
Oh! So glad I made you smile – as you so often make me smile when I se you online!

Yes! I totally agree about the head clutter – the ifs, when, whys, buts and HOWS – Those things are not worth wasting energy on. Simple trusting in the process, in your beliefs, in the universe, and in God thats all you need..
I love it when you mention this concept Afi – its a great reminder. If I have something on my mind, often its a why? When? How? etc etc AND totally unnecesary – so I have to remember to keep it simple and live each day as it comes and trust in the process.

A full and thankful heart..

I ain’t no better ;-) The note is also a reminder for myself

And I thought you were not into new wave ;-)

…what a wonderful world….

In response to aftab’s post:
new wave?

In response to laurie- worksout-daily&w/everything she’s got~ ~‘s post:
It´s a style of music and in a way back in the early 80s a bit of life style, a bit punkish but not too extreme.
New Wave
Madness is among other styles also classified as new wave.
What do you understand under new wave?

…what a wonderful world….

In response to aftab’s post:
I’m familiar w/the new wave that came out of the late 70’s. And some was fine. Though when I posted the video of Jason Mraz,I thought were indicating that was new wave. Because that’s not new wave to me. Get back to me, ok?

In response to laurie- worksout-daily&w/everything she’s got~ ~‘s post:
That’s the same new wave :-)
The lyrics you wrote out is the Our House by Madness (It’s the only version I know)

…what a wonderful world….

In response to aftab’s post:
Whoops wrong lyrics.
Here’s the lyrics to my intended song:
and the link (which was the same above)

I’ll light the fire
You put the flowers in the vase
That you bought today

Staring at the fire
For hours and hours
While I listen to you
Play your love songs
All night long for me
Only for me

Come to me now
And rest your head for just five minutes
Everything is good
Such a cosy room
The windows are illuminated
By the sunshine through them
Fiery gems for you
Only for you

Our house is a very, very fine house
With two cats in the yard
Life used to be so hard
Now everything is easy
‘Cause of you
And our la,la,la, la,la, la, la, la, la, la, la…..

Our house is a very, very fine house
With two cats in the yard
Life used to be so hard
Now everything is easy
‘Cause of you
And Our

I’ll light the fire
And you place the flowers in the jar
That you bought today

In response to meditatingmama’s post:

MM that made me feel very peaceful that is exactly where I am heading. For me you hit it right on the head. Simplicity and the path of least resistance brings a lot of happiness. Don’t sweat the small stuff. In many ways I am grateful for the trajedies that happened in my life. It allowed me to realize that I came here with nothing and I won’t be taking anything with me when I go. Just the love and happiness of those close to me.

Blessings,
Mary

In response to meditatingmama’s post:
i agree with Mary ,your post does give off such a peacefull ,gratefull and contented feeling ,thank you ,your words are so helpfull to me at the moment ,love flowergirl

The weirdest thing happened….popped in to Bmindful this morning reading a post here n there that would catch my eye. Saw this one with the lyrics to the two songs. Remembered hearing both of them at one time or another. Made me smile. (Thanks Laurie.)

Took off for work stopping at HEB for lunch stuff. Guess what songs I heard while in the store? Yep, you got it! Those two songs!

Is that some form of coincidence, a message of some sort or what? Interesting to say the least. :-)

Here is a good one for simplicity. Lord I Hope This Day Is Good

And how about Sweet Life

Then there’s Whenever I See Your Smiling Face

Gerry Rafferty

Get It Right Next Time

Out on the street I was talkin’ to a man
He said “there’s so much of this life of mine that I don’t understand”
You shouldn’t worry yes that ain’t no crime
Cause if you get it wrong you’ll get it right next time (next time).

You need direction, yeah you need a name
When you’re standing in the crossroads every highway looks the same
After a while you can recognize the signs
So if you get it wrong you’ll get it right next time (next time).

Life is a liar yeah life is a cheat
It’ll lead you on and pull the ground from underneath your feet
No use complainin’, don’t you worry, don’t you whine
Cause if you get it wrong you’ll get it right next time (next time).

You gotta grow, you gotta learn by your mistakes
You gotta die a little everyday just to try to stay awake
When you believe there’s no mountain you can climb
And if you get it wrong you’ll get it right next time (next time).

Next time, hmmmmm

Love me some Gerry Rafferty.

I’ll come up with a few more for simplicity.

“Simple things make me happy. My life is good. I am smiling.”
