I’m a married youthful baby-boomer. My husband of 30 years is truly my best friend. I love education (formal and informal), genuine good hearted people, healthy foods, and exercise. I live from the heart.
I love recreating my life with the way I look at things—or the act of changing my behavior. My biggest goal right now is to work in an environment that is harmonious with my efforts in moving forward. I believe it’s presently in the works. While I have gratitude for my current job, and anything I participate in..I know opportunities are everywhere, and I remain ready.
The themes of my life are:
I am right where I’m supposed to be, and I’m always moving forward from where I am. I’m grateful to God for this moment, for the loving process of living well.. and how everything in my life is always better better better…and it all starts with me. I know for a fact that thoughts faith/feeling preclude the results in our inner worlds….and with that passion and truth we attract wonderful opportunity and the love and life to enjoy our experience.
And ..not only am I where I’m supposed to be for myself, I am where I am supposed to be to do something of value for someone …somewhere..even if I never find out what helped, or for whom. As long as I focus on being true to myself, and the Good ..good will be the result..And so it is with God as my co-creator. Thank you God. Amen.
Hi Laurie,
I am very pleased to be added as a friend. I am looking forward to getting to know you and learn all that I can from your example.
I am also very interested in creating the best health that I can through exercise, eating healthy foods and developing good mindful habits.
Thank you so much for reaching out to include me in your life :)

In response to Sue’s comment: Hi Sue, Tell me about you and color(:
How do I use colour in my world. Mmmmmmmm I think that’s an interesting question. But when I think of it ask me my favorite colour its BLACK. Why I see black as sleek sexy. Polished and clean cut. Now I used to own an in the face yellow car. It was my little sunbeam. Yellow makes me feel Vibrant and healthy and reminds me of sunshine. I also have a great appreciation for nature, the morning sun is pouring into my window at the moment and, at the beginning of summer as the sun gets higher the sun hits my crystals and a dazzling display of color dances around our bed room, I always believe its a form of energy that protects and keeps us vibrant. We don’t sleep with curtains at the window and when there is a full moon the white glow bathes us as we sleep and I find that healing and loving. I have always put the white light of protection around my kids and family when I see them, when we say good bye or when they have a challenge whatever that may be, it automatic. I love white, our beddings white, china is white, its crisp and clean and free from germs. Now blue jacaranda trees fascinate me the color of those is so spiritual, it really moves me the depth of that blue, In Sydney they flower around my birthday and the whole place is bathed in blue it scatters every where like confetti its stunning. A neighbor has had a Japanese flowing cherry and the pink has been so vibrant and dazzling that I have had so much pleasure out of it. Also the color of bougainvillea’s this year in Aussie has been stunning. Nature is incredible. How do you use it? Have a great week . Sue
In response to Sue’s comment: Sue -30 yrs. for me too-next year(:
I want to say I really enjoy ypur vibrant style of communicating and your lovely message! I’m glad Lee has provided this site to meet such wonderful people like you.
Hi Laurie from Florida~ I am visiting Florida on vacation this week…Daytona Beach Shores today. My beach front hotel overlooks the Atlantic Ocean and needless to say, it is peaceful here. I got up early this morning to watch the sunrise over the Atlantic. Magnificent!! I cannot believe the locals are given such a wonderful gift each and every morning. It was amazing that the beach was EMPTY!! Of course, to us from Kansas, the weather is a heatwave and fabulous…maybe the locals were snug at home from the frigid cold!! hehehe… You are so lucky to live in such a beautiful state. I would be living on a bicycle and spending every minute outdoors.
The water spirits are active on this coast!! I walked out and was hugged by the breeze as I made my way down the beach. It was so relaxing. I felt like breaking out into some Yoga poses, but I doubt my husband would have found humor in my gratefulness and appreciation to Mother Earth.
Anyway, I wanted to tell you how lucky you were to live in such a beautiful area. I bet you are never home any weekend. I know I wouldn’t be!!!!
PS: I didn’t have the same feeling for Orlando, but it was probably where I was… it felt like a very touristy greedy area… Money was King and all else was somewhere way down at the bottom. (to be fair, my kids loved Disney World, but it was a far cry from their love of the beach) Orlando is definitely not my style!!
Hi Laurie
Thanks for the compliment of my profile name. I do like reading opinions of others on this site, it’s nice to be surrounded by so many nice people with their positive thoughts. Hope you’re having a nice day. Thanks for adding me as a friend. I should be doing a uni assignment now, but we all need a break from time to time right?
Cheers
Viv
Hi Laurie, thanks for adding me as your friend. Great list of affirmations. One that particulary jumped out at me was ‘my journey is my own and it is beautiful’. Love it!! I can’t lie, I read some of your posts before I signed up on bmindful and you strike me as a well educated and spoken person. Looking forward to chatting with you and learning many new things.
Hey Laurie, I saw Dead Poet’s Society on your list. I just thought I’d let ya know I met the actor that played the part of the boy who killed himself in the movie. I lived in London for a while, almost 20 years ago now, but anyway the actor was in the play Our Town which I had just gone to see and he happened to go to the same pub I frequented and I ran into him after the play. Just thought it was interesting and wanted to share.
Hi Laurie, Thanks for letting me feel welcome! I hope you will find your environment which harmoniously converges with your efforts to move forward ;) I’ve been trying to move forward by spefically pick environments where it is hard to do so (probably with some assumption that it will be more worthwhile). I just started telling myself all the time that life’s good and can just as well be easy :).
Another thing I believe in is that however your rearange your inner world will reflect on the outside world. Though hard to do for most of us, affirmations and the change it brings forth can be a good example of it’s truth :)
Thanks again for your comment! Ynze
Hi Laurie, Thanks for your comments on my ‘Affirmations for others’ forum posting and so glad you agree. The discussion in that particular thread seemed so limited I felt compelled to respond. Thinking that our affirmations can’t influence others is foolish. It also means we are not taking responsibility for what we think. None of us live in isolation. What we do AND think affects others. So… let us think only good for others and the world. Our thoughts can participate, with others, to create a wonderful new world full of immense good flowing from magical happenings.
In response to themadcookieman’s comment: I am emailing you Wed. with the how to’s. Can’t wait to see the avatar you choose Mr cookieman. Going to sleep, g’night zzzzz
In response to themadcookieman’s comment: I see “wasting” in quotes;so hope it is a greater time than it is a waste. Because all of your contributions are certainly purposeful and enjoyable on this site to all of us!!!!!!!!!!
Hi, I tried it this morning. Guess I need to practice a bit more and wait for the results. Not quit sure about it. I was sometimes inside the mirror, sometimes watching. I often use visualisations and feel myself in the mood/situation. Are these two in contradiction, in regards to being part of the picture or watching it? Or are they the same and it doesn’t realy matter if observing or being part of the picture? Thanks and have a lovely day, Afi
In response to aftab’s comment: The mirrors are just to separate positive and negative ideas. You don’t have to see as much as feel/think of these mirrors. You want to see or think of 2 mirrors. 1 holds negative ideas (imagine it contained with something blue framed around it). Next to it think of positive ideas, and throw white frame or white light around it. Both framed things are next to one another. Immediately after doing the positive affirmed ideas w/white “frame” around it;instantly “see” (think/feel/see) the blue framed (negative one still sitting next to white), and immediately crash blue one, and immed. open eyes, leaving white one in tact. When you open your eyes you will be left w/all of the good. Negative beliefs will be totally gone.
In response to aftab’s comment:
Awww (smiles), me you too!
In response to aftab’s comment: Thanks for your loving energy!!!! I know it will contribute to my feeling better, better , and better(:
Oops wonder why I sent you ‘warn’ energy. Ofcoarse it was WARM energy. Sending some more now again……. Waaarrrmmmmm ~~~~~Energy…. My remedy is to make a pot of vegetable soup, cuddle on the sofa or bed, do absolutely nothing except for reading or daydreaming or watching tv. Lots of soup, organges and grapefruits.
In response to aftab’s comment: Maybe you wanted to warn me of the warm energy that was coming my way, and be prepared for the biggest and the best level of health I’ve ever experienced. Was that it(:
I’ve been following the remedies and receiving the love(:
Looking at it today, I love travelling, seeing new places, getting to know new people and cultures. I love learning about the differences or the similarities in different cultures, how people live, think, speak, what they eat (love international cusine) etc. Looking at it today, I think I should have become an anthropologist :-) Looking at it as it happened, it were a series of luck and coincidences. Does that exist?! :-) Wish you a wonderful day, Afi
In response to jancydat’s comment: Love your affirming comment. My best to you always(:
In response to Philip’s comment: Hello Phillip, hope you see my comment to you on my own profile(: I’m fine, thanks for asking(:
Are you enjoying the site? Have you posted any music on the music threads lately? It’s a lot of fun. Try the one that is called something like:StartYour Own Personal Party. You can save songs there and share w/others.
Greetings Laurie - Thank you for adding me as a friend. You might want to drop by http://www.subliminalblaster.com/download.htm and download the free version of Subliminal Blaster. It will let you add to your computer an subliminal afirmation program that lets you create your own categories. Since I am on a computer most of the day, I now have my affirmations subliminaly shown on the right corner of the computer that I work on most of the time. So now I can not only listen to my affirmations, I also program my brain with what the same affirmations. Enjoy! Roberto Artigas
In response to Lady_D’s comment: My pleasure! Nice to hear from you from the email(:

Hello Laurie! Thanks for the nice note on my profile. Yes, I did beef up my profile a little while ago. While I may not always participate, I’m always finding something interesting in the forums & you seem to figure into that promnently and positively. I do wonder where you find the mental energy for the depth of information you bring. Take care, Jan

The best to you during the holiday season, and everyday(:
hi laurie, i’m glad you like the recent affirmations. which ones do you like? what is it that you like about them? i’ll let you know about some of my experiences thus far with the “blue mirror”.(i do like that name),it kind of has a “magical” ring to it. i’ve been giving it some thought and observing the results in my life and behaviour. ive used it many times. perhaps you can share some further insights and some more details of your own experience using it later on. the blue mirror has many possibilities doesn’t it? the notion of making changes in the neural pathways of the brain through inner vision, and the manifestation of the results in our inner and outer world, is something i find very interesting. i also like the inner guide approach and the various kinds of healing imagery too. i’m particularly interested in the larger concept of visualization for seeing yourself as being the person you want to be ,doing the thing you want to do, having the new level of skills you want to have and changing your self image and lifestyle. seeing the end result is so important. what other kinds of visualization do you use? the “secret” has opened many doors for many people who otherwise might not have found this information,(unless they went looking for it),sadly, some just pass it by. the “secret” is not just about getting “material things” or being rich as some might think, is it? its very deep and profound and endless ,if one has truly considered it or used it. if one quietly does ones own research on this subject and in addition reads many autobiographies and biographies of those who have used it, ( drawn from various philosophical, metaphysical, spiritual, magical and religious doctrines, contemporary and throughout history) , one is left with a deep sense of wonder and gratitude. it’s also very motivating too. all one has to do is to know how use it consciously, thats the trick. we all use it unconsciously. there are so many levels of awareness and degrees of clarity, and then there are ethics and karma to consider and getting out of ones own way from a psychological standpoint. i believe having the right information and the right techniques are the key . and then really “doing it” and not being concerned with what others think or say or do. “go and tell no man” has meaning. this information is everywhere now ,although, it always has been. success does leave clues. many people will tell you right out that this is how they have created what wanted for their life, if you have “ears” to hear and also (know what to look for). staying mindful, spiritually, and practically, keeps one focused and on track and helps avoid diversions too. time is valuable! so today i’ve been reading, lama surya das. if you don’t know where you are going or you “forget”, you’re probably not going to get there. changing the destination frequently is counterproductive, just as not starting is. so “write it down” is good advice! wouldn’t you agree? i do like the “this or something better now appears for the greatest good of all concerned” caveat concept. it allows for some big suprises or something better, and attachment can be so compelling and distructive . until one learns a particular life lesson the situation will most likely repeat, albeit in slightly different form brian tracy lays this all out in a very “practical” way doesn’t he? his biblographies show where he is coming from,( i’m a big fan of the bibliography) the power of prayer is also another fascinating topic too . one book i enjoy is catherine ponders “the dynamic laws of prayer”. i also like to observe and see how other people experience “the secret” from inside their subjective “reality”, especially when they all make it work . there is a common thread. lately ,ive been gathering up new cds and books and dvds on visualization and learning different skills and approaches and absorbing the information and trying them out , like anything else, it takes practice and focus. ive used different kinds visualizations and techniques in the past. i would like to master this skill. there is so much to be gained from this approach, as well as using affirmations. today, im listening to “visualization, directing the movies of your mind ” by adelaide bry. thanks for your kind comments i hope you enjoy the holidays db
Thank you so for your many kindnesses. I’m thinking of copying some of your affirmations as well. It is so good to have the soft cushion of bemindful to fall upon when world weary. There have been times I really needed it and other times when it allowed me to reach out and hopefully comfort another. Sometimes, such as today, my heart is so full of gratitude, I can see the hand of the universe at work - again. Glaurie Be! Jan

Hi Laurie, I just got your message - from November 2009. I haven’t been on here much lately- can you tell? (lol) I do appreciate your comments and would love to hear more about you as well. If you are interested - visit my website and read my blog… it pretty much focuses on positive thinking and remaining open to life, rather than listening to limited thinking patterns. Please let me know more about yourself - I enjoyed reading your affirmations also. It’s a good reinforcement to stay on the positive path! Take care, and again my apologies for not responding sooner….. it is life that gets busy and I forget to connect to this wonderful site!
