How do I use colour in my world. Mmmmmmmm I think that’s an interesting question. But when I think of it ask me my favorite colour its BLACK. Why I see black as sleek sexy. Polished and clean cut. Now I used to own an in the face yellow car. It was my little sunbeam. Yellow makes me feel Vibrant and healthy and reminds me of sunshine. I also have a great appreciation for nature, the morning sun is pouring into my window at the moment and, at the beginning of summer as the sun gets higher the sun hits my crystals and a dazzling display of color dances around our bed room, I always believe its a form of energy that protects and keeps us vibrant. We don’t sleep with curtains at the window and when there is a full moon the white glow bathes us as we sleep and I find that healing and loving. I have always put the white light of protection around my kids and family when I see them, when we say good bye or when they have a challenge whatever that may be, it automatic. I love white, our beddings white, china is white, its crisp and clean and free from germs. Now blue jacaranda trees fascinate me the color of those is so spiritual, it really moves me the depth of that blue, In Sydney they flower around my birthday and the whole place is bathed in blue it scatters every where like confetti its stunning. A neighbor has had a Japanese flowing cherry and the pink has been so vibrant and dazzling that I have had so much pleasure out of it. Also the color of bougainvillea’s this year in Aussie has been stunning. Nature is incredible. How do you use it? Have a great week . Sue

Hi Laurie from Florida~ I am visiting Florida on vacation this week…Daytona Beach Shores today. My beach front hotel overlooks the Atlantic Ocean and needless to say, it is peaceful here. I got up early this morning to watch the sunrise over the Atlantic. Magnificent!! I cannot believe the locals are given such a wonderful gift each and every morning. It was amazing that the beach was EMPTY!! Of course, to us from Kansas, the weather is a heatwave and fabulous…maybe the locals were snug at home from the frigid cold!! hehehe… You are so lucky to live in such a beautiful state. I would be living on a bicycle and spending every minute outdoors.

The water spirits are active on this coast!! I walked out and was hugged by the breeze as I made my way down the beach. It was so relaxing. I felt like breaking out into some Yoga poses, but I doubt my husband would have found humor in my gratefulness and appreciation to Mother Earth.

Anyway, I wanted to tell you how lucky you were to live in such a beautiful area. I bet you are never home any weekend. I know I wouldn’t be!!!!

PS: I didn’t have the same feeling for Orlando, but it was probably where I was… it felt like a very touristy greedy area… Money was King and all else was somewhere way down at the bottom. (to be fair, my kids loved Disney World, but it was a far cry from their love of the beach) Orlando is definitely not my style!!

Hey Laurie, I saw Dead Poet’s Society on your list. I just thought I’d let ya know I met the actor that played the part of the boy who killed himself in the movie. I lived in London for a while, almost 20 years ago now, but anyway the actor was in the play Our Town which I had just gone to see and he happened to go to the same pub I frequented and I ran into him after the play. Just thought it was interesting and wanted to share.

Hi Laurie, Thanks for letting me feel welcome! I hope you will find your environment which harmoniously converges with your efforts to move forward ;) I’ve been trying to move forward by spefically pick environments where it is hard to do so (probably with some assumption that it will be more worthwhile). I just started telling myself all the time that life’s good and can just as well be easy :).

Another thing I believe in is that however your rearange your inner world will reflect on the outside world. Though hard to do for most of us, affirmations and the change it brings forth can be a good example of it’s truth :)

Thanks again for your comment! Ynze

Hi Laurie, Thanks for your comments on my ‘Affirmations for others’ forum posting and so glad you agree. The discussion in that particular thread seemed so limited I felt compelled to respond. Thinking that our affirmations can’t influence others is foolish. It also means we are not taking responsibility for what we think. None of us live in isolation. What we do AND think affects others. So… let us think only good for others and the world. Our thoughts can participate, with others, to create a wonderful new world full of immense good flowing from magical happenings.

Hi, I tried it this morning. Guess I need to practice a bit more and wait for the results. Not quit sure about it. I was sometimes inside the mirror, sometimes watching. I often use visualisations and feel myself in the mood/situation. Are these two in contradiction, in regards to being part of the picture or watching it? Or are they the same and it doesn’t realy matter if observing or being part of the picture? Thanks and have a lovely day, Afi

In response to aftab’s comment: The mirrors are just to separate positive and negative ideas. You don’t have to see as much as feel/think of these mirrors. You want to see or think of 2 mirrors. 1 holds negative ideas (imagine it contained with something blue framed around it). Next to it think of positive ideas, and throw white frame or white light around it. Both framed things are next to one another. Immediately after doing the positive affirmed ideas w/white “frame” around it;instantly “see” (think/feel/see) the blue framed (negative one still sitting next to white), and immediately crash blue one, and immed. open eyes, leaving white one in tact. When you open your eyes you will be left w/all of the good. Negative beliefs will be totally gone.

Looking at it today, I love travelling, seeing new places, getting to know new people and cultures. I love learning about the differences or the similarities in different cultures, how people live, think, speak, what they eat (love international cusine) etc. Looking at it today, I think I should have become an anthropologist :-) Looking at it as it happened, it were a series of luck and coincidences. Does that exist?! :-) Wish you a wonderful day, Afi

Greetings Laurie - Thank you for adding me as a friend. You might want to drop by http://www.subliminalblaster.com/download.htm and download the free version of Subliminal Blaster. It will let you add to your computer an subliminal afirmation program that lets you create your own categories. Since I am on a computer most of the day, I now have my affirmations subliminaly shown on the right corner of the computer that I work on most of the time. So now I can not only listen to my affirmations, I also program my brain with what the same affirmations. Enjoy! Roberto Artigas

Thank you so for your many kindnesses. I’m thinking of copying some of your affirmations as well. It is so good to have the soft cushion of bemindful to fall upon when world weary. There have been times I really needed it and other times when it allowed me to reach out and hopefully comfort another. Sometimes, such as today, my heart is so full of gratitude, I can see the hand of the universe at work - again. Glaurie Be! Jan

Hi Laurie, I just got your message - from November 2009. I haven’t been on here much lately- can you tell? (lol) I do appreciate your comments and would love to hear more about you as well. If you are interested - visit my website and read my blog… it pretty much focuses on positive thinking and remaining open to life, rather than listening to limited thinking patterns. Please let me know more about yourself - I enjoyed reading your affirmations also. It’s a good reinforcement to stay on the positive path! Take care, and again my apologies for not responding sooner….. it is life that gets busy and I forget to connect to this wonderful site!

Hi Laurie, I do love your affirmations. Have you ever wondered if what we see as “upheavals” may actually be a necessary step in the direction of “what we asked for” and perhaps we don’t even realize what we are asking for? Therefore: “be careful what you ask for” and “words are powerful” are oft heard (& always true) phrases. I think I have experienced this in my life.Jan

Laurie, Thank you for adding me as your friend. I have read the Themes of your Life, and I am impressed with your mind-set. You are tuned into a frequency that generates joy and prosperity: physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually. This is the kind of knowledge that you will receive from my book, 21st Century Jedi: Spiritual Athletes on the Cosmic Chessboard. Especially important is the Quantum Pathway diagram on page 40. This image will activate your subconscious mind, exponentially. I’m sorry that you had difficulty logging onto my website. In response to shahid’s comment: If you are saying you’d like to print my affirmations, all you have to do is right click, and click print.

If you want to print all of my affirmations..(over 2000) .. after my last affirmation, click where it says show all. Or cut and paste as you would anything you’d normally copy.

If you want to add an affirmation you like of someone’s, click the plus sign on the side of their affirmation and it will go to your list, and then when select my affirmations at the top of your profile page, it will give you the choice to print. Did I answer your question?

Hi My name is Jan I must tell u that i just joined here actually, exactly 20 minutes ago. and i was directed some how, dont even know how to browse here yet and such. but this is where i am, the first thing I have read so far here!! :)

And I must tell u (((LAURIE))) thats what others were calling u so i figured it is your name. The Theme and such and everything u have wrote here and such just touched me, inspired me, and I have felt and been this way of thinking for a few months now.

I truly hope u know and believe by the other members comments “u are” truly a unique, wise, genuine woman.

I do hope I dont sound like some weirdo to ya, since U dont know me and what i am writing is personal, i get that but i couldnt help it i felt so inspired and some how connected to just what u wrote and how i felt and such.

I will continue to read what u write if u dont mind? i am sorry if this came across to personal as well, that was “not” my intention. i hope u understand that !!

I am so happy that I joined here, I have been coming here for almost 2 or is it one year! anyways i finally did join so as they say better late than never. I hope i can help and find some friends here as well? U all sound, by what i have read to your comments, very caring individuals. Hope u alll have a peaceful day :) lol sisters and bros jan

Seven Simple Promises That Will Change Your Life Monday’s Promise: Responsibility: I will take complete responsibility for my health, my happiness, my success, and my life, and will not blame others for my problems.

Tuesday’s Promise: Accountability: I will not allow low self-esteem, self-limiting beliefs, or the negativity of others to prevent me from achieving my authentic goals and from becoming the person I am meant to be.

Wednesday’s Promise: Determination: I will do the things I’m afraid to do, but which I know should be done. Sometimes this will mean asking for help to do that which I cannot do by myself.

Thursday’s Promise: Contribution: I will earn the help I need in advance by helping other people now, and repay the help I receive by serving others later.

Friday’s Promise: Resilience: I will face rejection and failure with courage, awareness, and perseverance, making these experiences the platform for future acceptance and success.

Saturday’s Promise: Choice: I will have faith that, though I might not understand why adversity happens, by my conscious choice I can find strength, compassion, and grace through my trials.

Sunday’s Promise: Faith: My faith and my gratitude for all that I have been blessed with will shine through in my attitudes and in my actions.

Quotes are from the above video written by Phillip Sigglekow:

Face each day with the expectation of achieving good, rather than the dread of falling short You have to expect things of yourself before you can do them To succeed…You need to find something to hold on to, something to motivate you, something to inspire you. The difference between the possible and the impossible lies in a man’s determination The greatest glory is not in never falling, but in rising every time we fall.

From the Power of Full Engagement: Making change that lasts requires a three step process:
o Define Purpose - surface and articulate the most important values to define a vision both personally and professionally. Connecting to a deep set of values and creating a compelling vision fuels a uniquely high- octane source of energy for change, it also serves as a compass for navigating the storms that inevitable arise in our lives. o Face the Truth - it is impossible to chart a course for change until you are able to look honestly at who you are today. The first question to ask is -How are you spending your energy today?.. Facing the truth begins with gathering credible data. o Take Action to close the gap between who you are and who you want to be- between how you manage your energy now and how you want to manage your energy to achieve whatever mission you are on. This step involves building a personal development plan grounded in positive energy rituals. Building rituals requires defining very precise behaviors and performing them at very specific times - motivated by deeply held value Authors: Jim Loehr and Tony Schwartz Publisher: Simon & Schuster Copyright year: 2003 ISBN: 0-7432-2674-7

  • ** What is Your Truth?
  • Your truth will be unique to you. You may find others who parallel or mirror your truth for a time but each journey is unique and part of the constantly evolving world that we live in.

  • Your own truth becomes part of the core of who you are. It is a flexible, evolving and ever changing core. Things that didn’t make sense two years ago could suddenly become clear. Things that felt good before, no longer serve and will fall away or change. Information you receive from your soul, or something you read that turns on a light for you and you just ‘know’ that it’s true - all these form part of your truth core.

  • Truth is like a multi-faceted diamond. Depending what part you’re looking at it can be diagonally opposed to what somebody else is looking at. You could be looking at just a little piece, or the whole side. Nobody’s view will be quite the same as anothers’. But that does not make them wrong, its just that their truth comes from their own perspective, just as yours does.

From What is Truth, and Who’s Should I Follow?

by Linda Johnson

As a whole, I wasn’t very into the article this person above wrote…but the above bullets resonated with me.

Wikipedia Flow Psychology Flow (psychology) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flow_(psychology) cut and paste above link I could not link to it.

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Flow is the mental state of operation in which a person in an activity is fully immersed in a feeling of energized focus, full involvement, and success in the process of the activity. Proposed by Mihály Csíkszentmihályi, the positive psychology concept has been widely referenced across a variety of fields.[1]

According to Csíkszentmihályi, flow is completely focused motivation. It is a single-minded immersion and represents perhaps the ultimate in harnessing the emotions in the service of performing and learning. In flow, the emotions are not just contained and channeled, but positive, energized, and aligned with the task at hand. To be caught in the ennui of depression or the agitation of anxiety is to be barred from flow. The hallmark of flow is a feeling of spontaneous joy, even rapture, while performing a task although flow is also described (below) as a deep focus on nothing but the activity – not even oneself or one’s emotions.

Colloquial terms for this or similar mental states include : to be on the ball, in the moment, present, in the zone, wired in, in the groove, or keeping your head in the game.

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, ‘Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?’ Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It’s not just in some of us; it’s in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others. — Marianne Williamson

There are flaws to the quote if taken too literally…of course. Though I believe the meaning is clear…don’t over-talk, write endlessly, read about actions so much that you never gain the momentum/direction you seek in your life.

My employer has asked me to go full time(previously half-time) with a raise to come soon! Im so eager and excited for what is in store for me. My most recent thoughts are of money, all the fun that comes with extra and ABUNDANCE! I am truly a very blessed individual and appreciate all of it. It feels awesome to be able to type these words and see them. I do remember to come back and say hello, read my affirmations and add new ones although, not as often as I would like to. You didn’t have to struggle to make your face different than anyone else’s on earth. It just is. You are unique because you were created that way. Look at little children in kindergarten. They’re all different without trying to be. As long as they’re unselfconsciously being themselves, they can’t help but shine. “The ”Inside-Out” approach to personal and interpersonal effectiveness means to start first with self; even more fundamentally, to start with the most inside part of self / with your paradigms, your character, and your motives. The inside-out approach says that private victories precede public victories, that making and keeping promises to ourselves recedes making and keeping promises to others. It says it is futile to put personality ahead of character, to try to improve relationships with others before improving ourselves.” - Stephen R. Covey quotes

QUOTE by Jim Rohn“Do not doubt yourself, for where doubt resides, confidence cannot. Do not neglect yourself, for with neglect comes loss. Do not imagine yourself to be less than you are, not more than you are, but seek always to become all of which you are capable. Do not allow yourself to become arrogant or discourteous, for both are characteristics adopted by those who seek to cover their weaknesses. Do not spend time regretting the past, but invest that time wisely by preparing a better future. You are a fertile seed of the Creator of all things, destined not to lie dormant, but to spring forth from the soil called life, and grow upward toward the unlimited horizons – overcoming all obstacles in the process. It is your destiny to tap your talents and to achieve all that of which you believe yourself to be worthy…to love more, anticipate more, overcome more, plan more, attract more, and to enjoy more than you ever dreamed possible. Such is the standard of life awaiting your mental decision and outstretched hand. You are deserving – you are becoming – and you shall succeed.”

QUOTE by Virginia Satir (American Psychologist and Educator, 1916-1988) “I am Me. In all the world, there is no one else exactly like me. Everything that comes out of me is authentically mine, because I alone chose it — I own everything about me: my body, my feelings, my mouth, my voice, all my actions, whether they be to others or myself. I own my fantasies, my dreams, my hopes, my fears. I own my triumphs and successes, all my failures and mistakes. Because I own all of me, I can become intimately acquainted with me. By so doing,I can love me and be friendly with all my parts. I know there are aspects about myself that puzzle me, and other aspects that I do not know — but as long as I am friendly and loving to myself, I can courageously and hopefully look for solutions to the puzzles and ways to find out more about me…..However I look and sound, whatever I say and do, and whatever I think and feel at a given moment in time is authentically me. If later some parts of how I looked, sounded, thought, and felt turn out to be unfitting, I can discard that which is unfitting, keep the rest, and invent something new for that which I discarded. I can see, hear, feel, think, say, and do. I have the tools to survive, to be close to others, to be productive, and to make sense and order out of the world of people and things outside of me. I own me, and therefore, I can engineer me. I am me, and I am Okay.”

I saw the following 5 steps on dharmadude’s wonderful website/blog in an area entitled Compassion. He said he saw this in a magazine and recites this “with mindfulness, after sitting silently for ten minutes, hold in mind not only those you love, but those who appear to be adversarial”

I think it is absolutely perfect. Here it is:

  1. “Just like me, this person is seeking happiness in his/her life.” 2. “Just like me, this person is trying to avoid suffering in his/her life.” 3. “Just like me, this person has known sadness, loneliness and despair.” 4. “Just like me, this person is seeking to fill his/her needs.” 5. “Just like me, this person is learning about life.”

Your decision to be, have and do something out of ordinary entails facing difficulties that are out of the ordinary as well. Sometimes your greatest asset is simply your ability to stay with it longer than anyone else. …Brian Tracy

Brian Tracy also states change is inevitable and people can only respond in 4 ways: do more of some things, less of others, start doing new things, and stop doing some things altogether. He says goals are a powerful motivator. A goal can only be obtained by choosing one or more of those responses, enabling you to effectively make the changes necessary to achieve the goal.

When your higher self is present, it always promotes peace. If you have a question about whether it is your ego or your higher self speaking, the answer becomes obvious when you ask yourself, “Will this bring peace or turmoil to my life?” Peace is not found in being right or being hurt or being angry. When confronted with a situation that appears fragmented or impossible, step back, close your eyes, and envision perfection where you saw brokenness. Go to the inner place where there is no problem, and abide in the consciousness of well-being. Alan Cohen

The secret of our lost mode of prayer is to shift our perspective of life by feeling that the miracle has already happened and our prayers have been answered. Now we have the opportunity to bring this wisdom into our lives as prayers of gratitude for what already exists, rather than asking for our prayers to be answered. Gregg Braden

Common sense is strengthened by joy. ~ Nothing is as liberating as joy. It frees the mind and fills it with tranquility. ~ Remember: Things can go from the very worst to the very best in just the blink of an eye.

Create joy for yourself. Dance or sing or do at least one thing every hour that makes you feel joyful. Continue to increase it, until very soon, your whole day will be filled with happiness. This way you will be able to achieve your purpose in life, both physically and spiritually. Joy is a person’s existence, so do whatever works for you in order to be happy the whole day.

There is only one word that can best describe you and the tremendous impact your sharing of information, resources and encouragement is having on my life, “Amazing”! There is an old TV series, “Wonder Woman”, well she has nothing on you. One of my favorite songs sums up my appreciation of you, “you’re just too marvelous, too marvelous for words” and truly a Blessing.

Oh Dear Heart, the sentiments you expressed fill my heart with joy! I toast to You, actually You and Robert sharing your encouragement, kindness, compassion, knowledge, resources and magnificent posts have changed me from “Chicken Little” who believed the sky was falling, into a magnificent Phoenix, who has risen from the ashes and is now soaring high in the sky. Though we have never met, I believe that I know you and you know me too. You share with me comfort and joy like a physician prescribes medicine you have ministered to me faithfully, as a result I am now healed and more than that I am sooo grateful to You and my Creator for directing my path to Bmindful and You. Blessings unto You forever and a day mi muy bonita amiga! Wishing you a day just like you extraordinary….
