Music To Start Your Day

I know we have music threads and btw, I love them! Though, for this thread, pick songs that absolutely brighten your ‘1st thing in the morning’ kind of moment. Your eyes are at 1/2 mass when you’re waking, and you haven’t decided how you want it all to be yet; and then..you hear an upbeat favorite, and it begins the wheels of your greatest thoughts and feelings in full gear.

You all know, I have a couple of signature songs that kind of do it for me; though, I want more! I want something that says (in music and or lyrics-hopefully both)that today is great!

OK, I’m waiting. Post me some tunes to move me and my life forward with smiles, solutions, and lots of love.

My signature songs that I have:
Until recently, I never took the time to listen to Jason Mrzaz. I heard him on Saturday Night Life the other night, and found him and his music to be a great-spirits maker. This rendition (ending w/great musical surprises) did it for me.

And of course, Santana, my original signature song, Everything is Coming Your Way

“Even if you’re on the right track – you’ll get run over if you just sit there” Will Rogers

Yeah awesome. How good is YouTube by the way? I could spend all day looking at stuff. Have a great day/night/moment…

“Even if you’re on the right track – you’ll get run over if you just sit there” Will Rogers

Will be redoing this post, because some songs were removed…

Bruce Springsteen might not be all comprehended as love song lyrics, but lots of soul; do love the earlier songs from him-> as far as jamming to something upbeat 1st thing in the morming-kind of wake me-up music;does it for me! Bruce Springsteen 10th Avenue Freeze Out with surprise performance from the legendary Clarence Clemmons

This particular song was an early song, but sung a bit later, when sax-player Clarence was no longer a regular. That’s why this performance was so special.

Turn up your speakers if you love Bruce and Clarence from when they were in their prime, same song

I Don’t Wanna Go Home Lyrics

I Don’t Want To Go Home
(S. Van Zandt)

Oh, I know that it’s getting late
But I don’t want to go home
I’m in no hurry baby time can wait
‘Cause I don’t want to go home

Listen to the man sing his song
I don’t want to go home
I don’t mind if it takes all night long
‘Cause I don’t want to go home

Listen, baby, I know we had to try
To reach up and touch the sky, baby
Whatever happened to you and I
That I don’t want to go home?

Lord, look at how all the people stare
Said I don’t want to go home
In their minds I know they’ve all been there
I don’t want to go home

I know the words to this song are real
But, oh, I don’t want to go home
I know he’s talking ‘bout the way I feel
And I don’t want to go home

Listen, baby, I know we had to try
To reach up and touch the sky, baby
Whatever happened to you and I
That I don’t want to go home?

I want to hear people laughing and having a good time
I want to know why she told me she had to go
Why did she leave me lonely?

I know that it’s time to go
But I don’t want to go home
You can play play your blues, play ‘em soft and low
‘Cause I don’t want to go home

I know the words to this song are real But, oh, I don’t want to go home I know he’s talking ‘bout the way I feel And I don’t want to go home

I don’t want to go, believe me, darling
I don’t want to go home
Don’t wanna be all alone
I don’t want to go home, baby

Ain’t nobody waitin’ at home
Baby, won’t you please come home
Baby, baby, baby
Baby, baby, baby
Baby, baby, baby
Baby, won’t you please come home?

BE YOU

David Gray Sail Away

Sail away with me honey
I put my heart in your hands
Sail away with me honey now, now, now
Sail away with me
What will be will be
I wanna hold you now, now, now

Crazy skies all wild above me now
Winter howling at my face
And everything I held so dear
Disappeared without a trace
Oh all the times Ive tasted love
Never knew quite what I had
Little darling if you hear me now
Never needed you so bad
Spinning round inside my head

Sail away with me honey
I put my heart in your hands
Sail away with me honey now, now, now
Sail away with me
What will be will be
I wanna hold you now

Ive been talking drunken gibberish
Falling in and out of bars
Trying to find some explanation here
For the way some people are
How did it ever come so far

Sail away with me honey
I put my heart in your hands
Sail away with me honey now, now, now
Sail away with me
What will be will be
I wanna hold you now
Sail away with me honey
I put my heart in your hands
Sail away with me honey now, now, now
Sail away with me
What will be will be
I wanna hold you now

“Happiness is a perfume you cannot pour on others without getting a few drops on yourself.” ~ Ralph Waldo Emerson

Another song, which gets to me is by Hollie Smith, she is our very own singer from New Zealand, very soulful and raunchy Philosophy

Tell me brother, can you not hold hatred
Can you take pride, in fighting life with your mind
Tell me sisters, can you take the road up high
And not make excuses and live life the way you make it?

You’ve got to follow a philosophy of soul
You got to hold on, you got to stay strong
You got to follow a philosophy of soul
And dont’t you ever let it go…

Tell me mothers, tell me fathers
Can you provide
And give strength to your child
Teach them that there’s more to life
Than what’s on the outside.
CREATE A SOUL IN THEIR SOLDIER
So they can hold their heads up high

You’ve got to follow a philosophy of soul
You got to hold on, you got to stay strong
You got to follow a philosophy of soul
And dont’t you ever let it go…it go, it go,

You got to hold on, you got to stay strong
You got to follow a philosophy of soul
And dont’t you ever let it go

(This song encourages me to give out love to everyone I meet during my day, I love playing it up loud in the car and get a thrill when people pull up along side me when its playing, Im hoping that when they hear this song, they get a feel for it and hear its message lol. Hope it works for them, cause I think its a very powerful song.

“Happiness is a perfume you cannot pour on others without getting a few drops on yourself.” ~ Ralph Waldo Emerson

In response to Pure Essence’s post:
I cannot hear the volume on Philosophy. It isn’t my volume, bc I can hear others. Hmmm. Wonder why?

BE YOU

Ok, I’m still slow on learning how to link… but, I thought I’d share the lyrics to one of my favorite songs by one of my favorite artists… John Lennon…

IMAGINE
Imagine there’s no heaven
It’s easy if you try
No hell below us
Above us only sky
Imagine all the people
Living for today…

Imagine there’s no countries
It isn’t hard to do
Nothing to kill or die for
And no religion too
Imagine all the people
Living life in peace…

You may say I’m a dreamer
But I’m not the only one
I hope someday you’ll join us
And the world will be as one

Imagine no possessions
I wonder if you can
No need for greed or hunger
A brotherhood of man
Imagine all the people
Sharing all the world…

You may say I’m a dreamer
But I’m not the only one
I hope someday you’ll join us
And the world will live as one

RIP – John, Baby! Your philosophy lives on!!

I am living in many dimensions at once; the appearance of being trapped in time and space is only an illusion.

In response to laurie’s post:

Oh dear, thats a shame, sorry about that Laurie, Im not too sure why either. Is the volume down on Youtube maybe? I cant go into Youtube and listen to hear what its like because my computer is slow at downloading songs, it will take me a least 1 hour, I’ll be sitting here all day lol, its a real bummer, of all the songs I link its a hit and miss and I only pray that what you hear is ok.

Your “Sail Away” post made me think of this great song!
Come Sail Away

Im sailing away, set an open course for the virgin sea
Ive got to be free, free to face the life thats ahead of me
On board, Im the captain, so climb aboard
Well search for tomorrow on every shore
And Ill try, oh lord, Ill try to carry on

I look to the sea, reflections in the waves spark my memory
Some happy, some sad
I think of childhood friends and the dreams we had
We live happily forever, so the story goes
But somehow we missed out on that pot of gold
But well try best that we can to carry on

A gathering of angels appeared above my head
They sang to me this song of hope, and this is what they said
They said come sail away, come sail away
Come sail away with me
Come sail away, come sail away
Come sail away with me

I thought that they were angels, but to my surprise
They climbed aboard their starship and headed for the skies
Singing come sail away, come sail away
Come sail away with me
Come sail away, come sail away
Come sail away with me

Peace of Mind by Boston

Now if you’re feelin’ kinda low ‘bout the dues you’ve been paying
Future’s coming much too slow
And you wanna run but somehow you just keep on stayin’
Can’t decide on which way to go
Yeah, yeah, yeah

I understand about indecision
But I don’t care if I get behind
People livin’ in competition
All I want is to have my peace of mind. (yea

Now you’re climbin’ to the top of the company ladder
Hope it doesn’t take too long
Can’t cha see there’ll come a day when it won’t matter
Come a day when you’ll be gone

I understand about indecision
But I don’t care if I get behind
People livin’ in competition
All I want is to have my peace of mind.

Take a look ahead, take a look ahead, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah… whoa!

Now everybody’s got advice they just keep on givin’
Doesn’t mean too much to me
Lot’s of people out to make-believe they’re livin’
Can’t decide who they should be.

I understand about indecision
But I don’t care if I get behind
People livin’ in competition
All I want is to have my peace of mind.

Take a look ahead, take a look ahead. Look ahead.

BE YOU

Better Together by Jack Johnson

There’s no combination of words
I could put on the back of a postcard
No song that I could sing
But I can try for your heart,
our dreams, and they are made out of real things
like a shoebox of photographs
with sepia-toned loving
Love is the answer
at least for most of the questions in my heart, like
Why are we here? And where do we go?
And how come it’s so hard?
It’s not always easy and
sometimes life can be deceiving
I’ll tell you one thing, it’s always better when we’re together

Mmmm, It’s always better when we’re together
Yeah we’ll look at the stars and we’re together
Well, it’s always better when we’re together
Yeah it’s always better when we’re together

And all of these moments
just might find their way into my dreams tonight,
But I know that they’ll be gone
when the morning light sings
and brings new things
for tomorrow night you see
that they’ll be gone too,
too many things I have to do
But if all of these dreams might find their way
into my day to day scene
I’d be under the impression
i was somewhere in between
With only two,
Just me and you,
Not so many things we got to do
or places we got to be
We’ll sit beneath the mango tree, now,

Yeah It’s always better when we’re together
Mmmm, we’re somewhere in between together
Well, it’s always better when we’re together
Yeah, it’s always better when we’re together

mmmmmmm

I believe in memories
they look so, so pretty when I sleep
Hey now, and when I wake up,
you look so pretty sleeping next to me
But there is not enough time,
There is no, no song I could sing
and there is no combination of words I could say
but I will still tell you one thing
We’re Better together

BE YOU

Here’s a perfect song for this post. I LOOOOOOOOOOOVE this song!
