A friend on another forum suggested wearing a rubber band on your wrist and everytime you have a negative thought you twang the band to make you become aware .I tried this with a hair band but as i often have them on my wrist for tying back long hair i didnt notice it .
Im trying to lessen the negative self talk by imagining it as a slug that im allowing into my mind .The positive thoughts are butterflies,ladybirds,flowers ,birds and rainbows so its a lovely place to be in my mind when im being positive .( i admit it – i am away with the fairies !!!!)
My idea is to crochet 3 long chains in pretty coloured wool and plait them so i have mt positive bracelet ,i can add little flowers ,ladybird buttons etc ,i will remember when i look at this to beware of the slug thoughts .love flowergirl
What a nice idea… sounds like a lovely plan for some extra money… I can see a market for them… Flowergirl!! How much nicer than smacking yourself with a rubber band… reminding yourself of the good things!!

thanks mm ,its a much kinder way isn’t it and im starting to write ideas like this in a notebook as i would love to write very simple little self help books with ideas like this .Going to the market today to look for cute buttons and bits and bobs ,and will make it when i come home .love flowergirl

Your rubberband, your business venture and the fact that you are active with bmidful shows that you are aware of your ability to affect your life and for that I applaud you =)
Keep in mind that reminding yourself or by making yourself aware of the negative thoughts really puts the negative thinking more as the focus.
If I have a negative thought, make myself aware that I just had that thought, then replace it with a positive counter thought, that’s great but not alone by it’s self. If we really want to re-condition our thinking to swing more on the positive train of thinking we have to effect our train of thinking where our thinking originates. Not after the thought has been created, but condition our thinking to create positive thoughts…all the time, automatically.
To change our thinking we have to condition the sub-conscious level of thinking as this is were we originate thought. Having a negative thought then replacing it with a positive thought leaves the original thought as negative and unchanged. As history repeats itself, we will have more negative thoughts, that we will replace with positive thoughts, and the merry go round goes round.
To really change our thinking we have to change our original train of thinking, the thinking that happens while we are unaware of it, not paying attention…if we are focused on the negative thoughts we are having, even if readied with something to remind us to plant a positive one in its place. Still, the focus is on the negative thought and from that focus more reasons, people, situations and circumstances will manifest into our literal reality because that’s what we are thinking about the most.
I am not downplaying your actions, idea or business idea. I think you’re awesome, I speak only from love, happiness and joy for you. This is only my personal opinion, from what I have learned to make change in our minds we have to change the cause that makes those negative thoughts the effect, making our automatic train of thinking supportive to our goals, wants and desires.
I’m saying, make your original thinking positive, and have nothing to remind you to replace negative with positive, I’m saying don’t think about negative at all. Only focus on the positive.
