In response to ladybug’s comment: Good morning, and thanks for the “hi”. I am working hard to find my focus, as I must admit, I let it get away from me for a period of time. It is my hope that this site, along with other avenues, will aid me in finding my focus again.

Very Male! Former college athlete, teacher, coach, athletic director, then I made a decision to leave education and was 1st involved in alternative health care in a very successful private practice for 10 years, and at 43 sold my practice and started all over from scratch in medical school. Now the head of psychiatry at a large university. Go figureā¦.. Virtually any one that meets me never has a clue of what I do for a living. I am certainly not your typically psychiatrist. I tell people if I ever decide to do a talk show I will be a cross between Dr. Phil and Jerry Springer. Definitly an anomoly.
Mastering thoughts, feelings, behaviors or energy’s is challenging at any time. Understanding your style of thinking, examples black-white, mind reading, catastrophic will give you a basic understanding of your primary style. (See cognitive behavioral therapy - Aaron Beck PhD for more information). We all have good days, and not so good days. On those not so good days faith and belief play a major role of staying on track. Be kind to yourself, remind yourself that nothing including thoughts are static but very dynamic. Above all, be kind and compassionate to yourself and try not to be judgemental of how you perform. Carpe Diem!
I’m so happy you saw the movie ‘The Secret’…Powerful Stuff!!! I know the journey towards feeling we are right where we want to be can seem like a very difficult and long road but I also believe, like rmorgent5, that Wisdom, trust, courage and action are indispensable guides that will serve us well along the way; my own life has taught me that again and again.
I am interested to know if you have come across Louise L.Hay, her writing is so powerful….my favorite book of hers is ‘You Can Heal Your Life’….check out her website; www.louisehay.com…very inspiring. I’ll end this comment with her most famous affirmation: ‘All Is Well In My World’.
I saw your comments on imagineareas profile about negative feelings.I read an article about how we need to accept all of our feelings,then we need to let them go.Have you heard of EFT?Its short for emotional freedom technique.You tap on accupressure points as you say certain affirmations.Gary Craig has a great website that explains it real good.Sometimes,the harder we try not to think of something,the harder it is to forget.I hope this helps.Also,I wanted to let you know that I saw a post from imaginearea on rmorgent5’s profile that her partner is very ill.I have posted on leenutters profile about it.I would like to form a prayer circle for her and her partner.Let me know what you think.Dawn

Thanks for stopping by and saying Hi.Everything is going great!Thanks for asking.I’ve been so busy with gardening and bringing in the hay.I’ve been lucky so far,no rain.I also have three litters of puppies.Maltese,and Maltese crosses.As my health gets better,its easier to concentrate on all my other challenges.I just got a new program,called sleeptracks,its really great!I’m feeling much better now that I’m sleeping better,and,I’m not having anxiety attacks any more.Also,I just got done reading the Secret.I was very inspired by it.Every morning now,when I wake up,I give thanks for everyone,and everything wonderful in my life.It makes the whole day go perfect.It has also helped me find my focus.I find myself going back and reading from it.I hope everything is going as good for you.Have a wonderful day Dawn
