What is “right speech” and what is “wrong speech”? Tell me please. Is it kind of like a “hate crime”. You know how when you murder a person of your own race it’s just a “crime”, but when you murder someone of a different race it’s a “hate crime” – is it like that?
One thing I know for certain is that words are powerful things. They can be music to your ears or they can mortally wound. You are a _______! You are so ______”! So, what are you?
You know what else words can be? They can be hiding places! They can be camouflage! They can be masks! They can be toys too! They can be art!
What else can words be?

i know that i have been guilty of using wrong speech in the past.that is using words in a negative manner.ones that spring to mind are the lie.when we speak with the intent of distorting the truth.unkind words.when our intent is to hurt others.divisive speech.when our intent to cause trouble or rifts between others.and one of the most popular forms of negative speech.idle gossip when we just rabbit on with no intent at all.before we speak i think its important that we focus on what our intent is.if the intent is negative simply stop talking.this can help us become more diciplined and aware.it will also stop us saying things that we later regret.if we quit the negative chatter i think people will be happier to listen to what we have to say and are more likely to respond in kind.our words really are powerful and do create our reality.blessings mara.
There is a wonderful audiobook I have called Positive Words, Powerful Results by Hal Urban. Lots of great stuff in there. A kind word at the right time to the right person lasts a lifetime. So does a negative comment!
