loving this thread. Such wonderful quotes.

and Thank you for what you have posted on the present moment.

Its so easy to get caught up with things that have less to do with the present moment than we know. I appreciate the energy and message of the quote you posted

Here is a quote I just found, that got me giving thought:

There is surely nothing other than the single purpose of the present moment. A man’s whole life is a succession of moment after moment. If one fully understands the present moment, there will be nothing else to do, and nothing else to pursue. Live being true to the single purpose of the moment.
When one understands this settling into single-mindedness well, his affairs will thin out. Loyalty is also contained within this singlemindedness.

With all due respect to Abraham, as her quotes are inspirering, I'm kind of waiting for her talk on how to delete all that you downloaded as a kid , because that program is an obstacle for many perhaps. Just saying I still utilize her inspirering words.

Watching a random Ted talk, the speaker quoted a philosopher.

"Give me the child for it's first seven years and I'll give you the healthy balanced adult"

Aristotle knew centuries ago, that the foundation of the rest of life is basically set or molded in the first seven years because the child is in a theta mind. In other words hasn't yet developed the capacity to discern or critical thinking. True enough then again what do I know in my "formative" years I was stuck in a playpen eating cheerios in front of the tele. LOL

Needless to say I did some hard work in my adult life to deprogram some non-sense. Or my soul did I just was it's passenger.

“I am whole, perfect, strong powerful loving harmonious and happy, I can do all things through Spirit. Christ and all spiritual people throughout the course of history that strengthen me”

In response to Moonlighting's post: Your wit and charm precede you , as it were.

In response to Moonlighting's post:I don't totally disagree, or agree. It's the old question of nature vs. nurture. I seem to think it is a combination of both. Just curious, do you like cheerios?

In response to Poppy's post:In a word yes, I have cheerio's with toasted bread with almond butter, for dinner ocassionally  In keeping an open mind it's possible the people running the tele may have molded me with good intentions, just saying.  However all the info we get from various sources in those theta years  basically is received as truth.

In response to Moonlighting's post: I like Cheerios also, but We had no TV when I was young. That gives you a clue as to how old I am.

Believe in Yourself

I found this years ago by

Joe Tye in a pdf of uplifting things I loved

Belief is a force of nature, like gravity or magnetism. There are two essential differences, however. First, unlike gravity or other fundamental natural forces, belief is subject to entropy, the law of thermodynamics that states things tend to fall apart if energy is not constantly applied. Unless positive mental energy is consistently applied, belief degenerates into wishful thinking, or worse, pessimism (believing that things will turn out badly).

Second (and here’s the good news), unlike gravity, belief is subject to mental control. By using techniques of affirmation and visualization you can boost your energy, enhance your belief, and wire yourself for success.

“[W]e are seeing evidence of the brain’s ability to remake itself throughout adult life, not only in response to outside stimuli, but even in response to directed mental effort. We are seeing, in short, the brain’s potential to correct its own flaws and enhance its own capabilities.”
