THIS PART IS BEING REVIEWED
One of My Favorite Threads with the Bosses Music
I promise there will be more than Bruce. I have to admit, if you’ve ever been to a Bruce concert, at the time->there was a feeling of there not being much more. Somehow (in person), he and his band kept everyone mesmerized. You didn’t have to understand all of the lyrics, they somehow made sense when you learned them. You sang them like they were poetry, whether they were meaningless to you or not(: A Bruce channel
Check this out, all of Springsteen’s groups and how they evolved before 1970 to now
More BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN Bruce in 85’ playing in Paris Born To Run
In a interview from the early 80’s Springsteen explains his own outlook on his work:
“Life is a struggle. That’s basically what the songs are about. It’s the fight everyone goes through every day. Some people have more success with it than others. I’m a romantic. To me, the idea of a romantic is someone who sees the reality, lives the reality every day, but knows about the possibilities too. You can’t lose sight of the dreams. That’s what great rock is about to me, it makes the dream seem possible.” ———————- Southside Johnny has his own big following, though he used to play with Bruce.
This is a video where Southside asks Bruce to sing with him in a real party atmosphere. It’s a little rowdy, though listen and you will (most likely) enjoy.
And for a larger screen, press where it says youtube on the screen. Southside Johnny and Bruce Sprinsteen sing I Don’t Want To Go Home
Southside Johnny and Bruce Sprinsteen sing Havin’ a Party
Later version Southside without Bruce, and Still Havin a Party Lost in The Flood Incident on 57th St Southside Johnny talking about the early days with Springsteen and Little Steven try hard to get into Bruce’s more current style as he has gotten older -> but it just misses a bit of the spark for me. Though, it’s still a party with Bruce;same song over 30 years later
Great exercise music!

Thanks for the introduction to Bruce!
I’ve never been a big fan – none in my vast cd collection.
I grew up with many of his hits, but I don’t know why, I just never really got into him – My favorites were Rush, Styx, REO, Sting, Led Zeppelin, The Beetles, John Cougar, Foreigner, Genesis, Loverboy, Phil Collins….
After listening to some of your links above, I could become a fan yet.

In response to BKW’s post:
Hi Brian. Thanks for checking out my favorites. It was really nice to share(:
I’m not a fan of Bruce’s newer music (hardly at all). He was something to see in the 70’s! His newer albums just didn’t excite me like the old stuff.
I went to your music thread, and left you a message

- (1) Jefferson Starship with Miracles
Found this post on youtube from Pete Sears…of Jefferson Starship near Miracles.
- Hello, thanks for putting up the Miracles piece on YouTube. Just thought I’d point out which musicians you are actually hearing play on the songfrom the horses mouth so to speak. Personnel didn’t change from the beginning of the Jefferson Starship in 1974 until the riot in Germany in 1978 when we had to cancel a show because Grace was too ill to play. The original Jefferson Starship (we actually only played two or three Airplane songs live) recorded the song “Miracles” which you are hearing, in 1975. It was from the hit album, Red Octopus. The band consisted of: Paul Kantner, Grace Slick, Marty Balin, Craig Chaquico, Papa John Creach, David Frieburg, Pete Sears (me), and John Barbata. Paul played rhythm guitar and sang back-ups on the track, Craig lead guitar, Papa John violin, Marty lead vocal, Grace lead back-ups, David Frieburg played the haunting B3 organ riff on the song and also sang back-ups, John Barbata drums, and I played both bass guitar and piano on the track. We had some good times with that band…I wrote a lot with Grace including the song Hyperdrive, and the band would play long three hour sets with plenty of improvisation. Jefferson Airplane had broken-up in 1972 after Jorma Kaukonen and Jack Casady decided to concentrate on Hot Tuna…I later joined Hot Tuna on piano for a wonderful ten year run during the 1990’s.The Jefferson Starships sound, record producer, and several personnel changed quite drastically during the 1980’s, eventually fizzling out at the end of the decade (Paul, Frieburg and I were long gone by then). Paul later reformed Jefferson Starship with some great musicians, including Diana Mangano who took over Graces parts. I was playing with Hot Tuna during this period. Jack would sometimes go off and tour with the new Jefferson Starship , and Jorma, Michael Falzarano and I would go out as the Jorma Kaukonen Trio, with me playing bass on keyboards with my left hand. Just wanted to set the record straight on which musicians you are hearing play on the song “Miracles“one of Martys best.
All the best,
Pete Sears

Lyrics To Landslide
I took my love, I took it down
Climbed a mountain and I turned around
I saw my reflection in the snow covered hills
till the landslide brought me down
Oh, mirror in the sky
What is love
Can the child within my heart rise above
Can I sail thru the changing ocean tides
Can I handle the seasons of my life
Well, Ive been afraid of changing
cause Ive built my life around you
But time makes you bolder
Children get older
Im getting older too
Oh, take my love, take it down
Climb a mountain and turn around
If you see my reflection in the snow covered hills
Well the landslide will bring it down
If you see my reflection in the snow covered hills
Well maybe the landslide will bring it down

This was quoted from youtube which was quoted from Wikipedia(: :
One of the greatest songs by Supertramp, Brother Where You Bound showed that the band could survive without the great voice (and songwriting) of Roger Hodgson. It features the great David Gilmour and Scott Gorham of Thin Lizzy fame.
—-//—-
This epic length track featured drummer Bob Siebenberg’s then brother-in-law Scott Gorham of Thin Lizzy on rhythm guitar. The searing guitar solos throughout the track and especially at the end were performed by Pink Floyd guitarist David Gilmour who used his own mixing system where he controlled every sound that went from his guitar onto the album.
In a 2002 radio interview on Rockline, Davies explained how Gilmour got involved on the title cut: “I remember saying to the guys, ‘We need to find somebody that can play a bit like Gilmour’ for the guitar stuff, and I think it was someone at A&M – it might have been Jordan Harris or somebody, one of those guys – and he said, ‘Well, I know David – maybe he would like to come over and do it,’ and he sent him a demo and he decided he’d like to do it and he was very reasonable. Came over, brought all his gear and straight to the studio. It was a home studio, my studio, and we did it.”

People Gotta Be Free was their last song.
People Gotta Be Free
30 years later w/Felix Cavaliere singing People gotta be Free
people gotta be free for the troops in 2007 Love fest
All the world over, so easy to see
People everywhere just wanna be free
Listen, please listen, that’s the way it should be
Peace in the valley, people got to be free
You should see, what a lovely, lovely world this would be
If everyone learned to live together
It seems to me such an easy, easy thing this would be
Why can’t you and me learn to love one another
All the world over, so easy to see
People everywhere just wanna be free
I can’t understand it, so simple to me
People everywhere just got to be free
Ah, ah, yeah . . . ah, ah, yeah
If there’s a man who is down and needs a helping hand
All it takes is you to understand and to see him through
Seems to me, we got to solve it individually
And I’ll do unto you what you do to me
There’ll be shoutin’ from the mountains on out to sea
(out to the sea)
No two ways about it, people have to be free
(they got to be free)
Ask me my opinion, my opinion will be
(ah-ha)
It’s a natural situation for a man to be free
Oh, what a feelin’s just come over me
Enough to move a mountain, make a blind man see
Everybody’s dancin’, come on, let’s go see
Peace in the valley, now they want to be free

Free Me
Lyrics to Free Me
Joss Stone
(mmm…Hey! All right now! ooh)
Ain’t I got you on your back foot
And you know I got you really good
Cuz there’s something deep inside of me
I’ve got to be
And if you find it hard to follow me
If I lose you in my jet stream
Than you only got to raise your eyes
And see me fly
Don’t tell me that I won’t
I can
Don’t tell me that I’m not
I am
Don’t tell me that my master plan
Ain’t coming true (yeah!)
Don’t tell me that I won’t
I will
Don’t tell me how to think
I feel
Don’t tell me cause I know what’s real
What I can do
Something that you don’t see every day
A little girl who found her way
Through a world that’s designed to break
All of your dreams
And if there’s one thing I will say to you
It’s that there is nothing that you can’t do
Cuz it’s all about your attitude
Don’t let them get to you
Don’t tell me that I won’t
I can
Don’t tell me that I’m not
I am
Don’t tell me that my master plan
Ain’t coming true
Don’t tell me that I won’t
I will
Don’t tell me how to think
I feel
Don’t tell me cause I know what’s real
What I can do
What I can do
(Oh yeah! Yeah! ooh ooh (giggle) mmm mmm mmm mmm mmm mmm Hey! ooh yeah!)
And we are singing in our own voice
We can make the choice to be free (to be free now!)
And we are singing it our own voice
We can make the choice to be free (to be free now!)
Music hey L.U.V. I love it (yeah hey eh yeah!)
Music, now, now, now eh L.U.V. baby I love it (eh) yes I do now
Don’t tell me that I won’t
I can
Don’t tell me that I’m not
I am
Don’t tell me that my master plan
