i love aromatherapy oils and flower essences ,oils are lovely for baths,in burners and round the house to help with tiredness low mood etc .I do believe pain and illness is our bodies way of talikng to us and love Louise Hay and her wisdom .
I would like to revive this thread for your thoughts.
I am a firm believer that being well is something we are and can actively address.
BE YOU
Eat good foods , or rather foods that are good for us.
Listen to our bodies ( as flowergirl said )
Exercise … I use to think I actually had to “exercise” but after talking to my Dr. about my activities I soon learned that playing basketball in the driveway with the children is not only fun and a bonding moment for us but also exercise. As well as gardening and yard work. Not to mention the numerous times up and down the stairs on laundry day. My Dr. also recommends walking as it helps to build seritonin which relieves some depression.
There’s nothing like sunshine and fresh air , and appreciating Gods creation to lift ones spirit.
A cup or two of chamomile tea sipped by candle light to help relax before bed time.
I have a friend that makes homemade soaps , lotions and such. I love her Friars Balsam as it not only relieves tired and sore muscles but after massaging it into my arms and legs or neck and shoulders , I feel relaxed.
Don’t dread going to the Doctor. I consider my Doc an essential person in my life , as well as my Dentist. I look forward to my check ups.
In response to DorothyMarie’s post:
You’re right about the Dr. visits, as long as you truly are heavily involved in your own health care with the Dr.
So often, individuals treat their physicians as gods and forget they can actually say no to to certain things..and can ask questions about why a test is performed, and ask if it is truly necessary.
I am so glad I found a primary care physician that knows I am into doing first things first —exercise and proper diet for areas I want to focus on..
And thanks Dorothy Marie for the encouragement/support about the dentist..needed that thought..and it came just at the right time(:
