Have you ever seen anybody jump from the bottom of the stairs straight to the top?
Neither have I.
I guess that’s why those stairs are there in the first place.

Many of the websites I’m listing have a wealth of useful articles – do yourself a favor and take advantage of these great resources. Economics in One Lesson This is an audiobook I highly recommend. I usually just put links for free stuff and you can find this as an e-book online for free, but here is a link to the audiobook. If you want to learn a lot about economics in a very short time this is the book. Put this in your car and listen on your commute and you’ll figure out a lot of the causes of our country’s problems. Actually, you’ll figure out a lot about the world’s problems in just a couple of hours. I can’t recommend this enough.
Economics in One Lesson Here it is as a pdf.
Economics in One Lesson here is a nice copy you can read in your browser.

Hi,
Check out myndology.com. They have different sizes of cardstock paper held together with a plastic ring. The l“x3” size looks good to write affirmations on. A teacher store might stock these items too.
In response to Laurie~LovesFocusingWell’s post:
Thanks, Lauri. I’ll read it, but it may be a little over my head. No, I know it’s not, I’ve just got to get in the right frame of mind.
I haven’t added anything here lately, but I thought I’d include a link to the Federalist Papers. We could use a few of the Founding Fathers now.

added Khan Academy and “Slow TV” (I think Slow TV has some socialist propaganda on it from time to time, but I still think it is a worthwhile site, just use your head and filter out the bs.)
Added “Are We All Keynesians Now” video
Added a link to some Nathaniel Branden articles. Nathaniel Branden is the author of The Six Pillars of Self-Esteem which I recently discovered and can recommend wholeheartedly.
I added a link to City Journal
“City Journal offers a stimulating mix of hard-headed practicality and cutting-edge theory, with articles on everything from school financing, policing strategy, and welfare policy to urban architecture, family policy, and the latest theorizing emanating from the law schools, the charitable foundations, even the schools of public health.”
I also added links to Downsizing The Federal Government and The Cato Institute
I found a website called Best Personal Growth Resources
This site exists to help you find proven resources for your personal growth.
(From the site)
What You’ll Find Here
———————————-
Thoughtful, honest commentary and articles reflecting the best personal growth approaches from behavioral science and the world’s wisdom traditions.
Recommendations on the best ideas, methods, and other resources for your personal growth and development. I have personally read all of the books, tried all of the methods, and used all of the products I recommend.
What You Won’t Find Here
—————————————-
Hype: The personal growth world has many good products, but there’s also a lot of junk with ludicrous claims designed to trick people into buying. You won’t find ridiculous claims such as “Achieve Total Happiness in 10 Days – Guaranteed!” I try to present balanced and thoughtful recommendations on methods and resources.
Empty Advice: Many self-help sites on the internet offer motivation and say that personal growth is simply “taking-responsibility-getting-motivated-taking-initiative-etc-etc-etc.” Don’t get me wrong – motivation is important; but psych-yourself-up approaches rarely lead to lasting behavior change after the initial excitement fizzles out. (Not to mention they usually come from people trying to sell you something that will “dramatically change your life for only $99.99!” All sizzle; no steak.) None of that here.
Fake Reviews: You also won’t find “reviews” that are really only sales pages in disguise. Fake sales pages infuriate me. On this site I’ll call it like I see it. I only recommend products I think are outstanding, and I clearly disclose when I receive compensation for referring you to a vendor.
I added some links about Journaling.
Here is a quick little video on How to Tell a Story
I don’t apologize for posting these. I believe it is important.

Wow! Looks like a great site. And may I say this link-thread looks sharp, and always great stuff to look at when I have a moment! Thank you Jeff!
Thanks, Laurie.
Here is a link to a free audio of Bastiat’s “The Law”. It ought to be required reading in school as far as I’m concerned. I’m sure you can find a free copy of the book online. It is a short read and well worth the time. You can get a free audiobook too.
If you go to the homepage you can also get a free audiobook of Thomas Paine’s Common Sense and Narrative of the Life of Frederick Douglass, An American Slave
The Case Against the Fed by Murray N Rothbard. First of 41 parts.

You know how sometimes someone recommends something for you to read and you think, “yeah, that sounds interesting, I’ll read that”, but then you get busy or whatever and you don’t read it. Then sometime way in the future you happen to read it and say to yourself “Man, I wish I had read that way back when…”. Maybe it’s a book or maybe it’s an article, whatever. Well, this is on of those kinds of articles. At least, I think it is. So, read this article. It’s not all THAT long. It is in several parts and all the links to each part are at the bottom of the page. It’s by Steve Pavlina.

Evernote

I haven’t played around with talk managers before, but I think there is a lot of delicious low hanging fruit that is very bmindfulish if we want it.
Also, I found a really neat site for great desktop wallpaper.
