★The Life of Spice, er, I mean Spice of Life

I was looking up the health benefits of spices and found some links I wanted to share. I don’t know a lot about health type stuff, but, I know we have some members on the forum who do. Here are a couple of words to file for future reference and hopefully one of our experts will chime in on what these words mean. Here are the two words: Antioxidant and Anti-Inflammatory.

What are antioxidants? by Dr. Andrew Weil
Antioxidants are special class of micro-nutrients
(the term “micro-nutrient” means that only minuscule
amounts are required to provide essential support for
vital metabolic functions). Antioxidants block
harmful chemical reactions caused by oxidation
– the destructive effect of oxygen and other oxidizing agents
on the molecular components of cells.
