Once again true enough, you can decide to accept any perceived flaws unconditionally.

To expand on this, I think Mr.Jung may have been saying people are preconditioned to judge and file others with there habitual programing. To adopt a thought process of non judgement never quite occurs, because there comfortable with "the" need to praise or condem where as developing the practice of observing without having to label all that's observed.  With the rational "How am I gonna feel if I can't file things as right or wrong good or bad. It is a practice or process the ego is afraid it will lose it's ability to think if it trusts space consciousness or no-mind. That's not possible you will always have the capacity to think when needed, because thoughts get assimilated into the heart and mind from outside the brain, collective or plain old consciousness itself.

In response to Stillness's post: A few thoughts come to mind. Really the trees and all feel our presence ? I think that's probably true. Also starting a Doc Hawkins thread "perhaps truth is stranger than fiction. Not really though.

Some of his concepts require a faith of sorts.

“Pacing the Cage” by Bruce Cockburn is a contemplative and introspective song that delves into themes of self-reflection, the passage of time, and the search for meaning and purpose in life. The lyrics paint a vivid picture of a person who feels trapped, disconnected, and uncertain about their place in the world. Here is an analysis of the song’s meaning:

In the first verse, the imagery of a sunset being an “angel weeping” with a “bloody sword” suggests a sense of impending doom or struggle. The protagonist of the song is unable to understand what this symbolic imagery is pointing towards. This reflects a feeling of confusion and uncertainty about the future.

The second verse delves into the narrator’s struggle with identity. They have tried to prove themselves repeatedly, but now they feel worn out and exhausted by the effort. The mention of a “magnetic strip’s worn thin” suggests that the narrator has presented different versions of themselves to others, and each time they were believed and accepted. This highlights the strain of wearing different masks to please others and the toll it takes on one’s sense of self.

The third verse touches on the theme of sacrifice and the pressure to fulfill others’ expectations. The narrator acknowledges that they have given everything, “all that I could pillage, all the spells that I could sing,” but they still feel unseen and unrecognized. It feels as if society demands this level of contribution, as if it were written in the “constitution of the age.” The narrator predicts that eventually, everyone reaches a point where they question their choices and find themselves feeling trapped and unfulfilled.

The fourth verse introduces the idea that sometimes even the best maps or plans won’t guide you adequately. The uncertainty and darkness in life are acknowledged, but there is also a recognition that sometimes darkness can be a friend, possibly suggesting that personal growth and self-discovery can arise from challenging times. The narrator scans the land for the arrival of an “outbound stage,” symbolizing the hope for a change or new beginning.

In essence, “Pacing the Cage” conveys a sense of restlessness, disillusionment, and the longing for something more meaningful. It explores the struggles of finding one’s true identity, fulfilling societal expectations, and dealing with the uncertainties of life. Ultimately, the song hints at an uncharted path ahead and the possibility for personal growth and liberation from the metaphorical cage.
