Wanted to share this nice poem I came across

Love after love by Derek Walcott

The time will come
when, with elation
you will greet yourself arriving
at your own door, in your own mirror
and each will smile at the other’s welcome,

and say, sit here. Eat.
You will love again the stranger who was your self.
Give wine. Give bread. Give back your heart
to itself, to the stranger who has loved you

all your life, whom you ignored
for another, who knows you by heart.
Take down the love letters from the bookshelf,

the photographs, the desperate notes,
peel your own image from the mirror.
Sit. Feast on your life

I cant imagine how the author came up with the line “give back your heart to itself, to the stranger who has loved you all your life, whom you ignored for another”
I think it speaks to everyone, a lady I know said that she cried when she read this poem.

These days I am inclined to believe that reality is something only poets can capture, the scientists are wasting valuable time and money on particle accelerators and stuff. There is no way machines will be able to make one understand and experience the wonders of this universe we live in.

Am just rambling now, words and good sense elude me so am gonna stop typing now and simply wish you all a nice day :)

thank you for such a beautifull poem youhave given me a lovely start to the day
