OCTOBER 2015 CONSTRUCTIVE OPPOSITES ▶

I sometimes deal with negative thoughts and feelings by wondering and questioning and seeking out their constructive OPPOSITES.

Anything that anyone gives attention to, becomes true

I might have a thought like: ‘I don’t look so great’ That doesn’t make me feel good.

Anything that anyone gives attention to, becomes true

So, I wonder, what’s a thought about this (my appearance) that might help me feel good?

Anything that anyone gives attention to, becomes true

I might come up with: I’M IN GREAT SHAPE, I LOOK GREAT, I FEEL TERRIFIC.

Anything that anyone gives attention to, becomes true

But it seems there’s a ‘trick’ to it.

Anything that anyone gives attention to, becomes true

In this case, I stop looking at myself pretty much. Instead, I begin to think and ponder or consider or IMAGINE what it would be like IF it were true: I’M IN GREAT SHAPE, I LOOK GREAT, I FEEL TERRIFIC.

Anything that anyone gives attention to, becomes true

Then, as I imagine and do this I begin to get a feel for it. I begin to feel a SHIFT in my feelings, it might be very subtle at first, but gradually I feel BETTER.

Anything that anyone gives attention to, becomes true

So, what’s happening here?

Anything that anyone gives attention to, becomes true

To me, what is happening is, as I dwell on the ‘constructive idea’ that I created (the opposite of the negative feeling-idea) My subconscious is already beginning to IDENTIFY with and create it.

Anything that anyone gives attention to, becomes true

As has been said, WHATEVER WE FOCUS ON, WE TEND TO GET MORE OF (Like attracts Like, Law of Attraction)

Anything that anyone gives attention to, becomes true

Then (in this case) after awhile I notice I am ‘moved’ to do things in alignment with: I’M IN GREAT SHAPE, I LOOK GREAT, I FEEL TERRIFIC.

Anything that anyone gives attention to, becomes true

I naturally want to exercise more, I begin to FEEL what it is like to ‘LOOK GREAT’ and be in GREAT SHAPE.

Anything that anyone gives attention to, becomes true

It is becoming a part of ‘who I am’

Anything that anyone gives attention to, becomes true

And, because I have already mentally and emotionally ‘set myself up’ it is pretty much effortless and joyous. I am merely ‘following the lead’ of the constructive idea I conjured up: I’M IN GREAT SHAPE, I FEEL GREAT, I LOOK TERRIFIC.

Anything that anyone gives attention to, becomes true

In other words, I don’t ‘get rid’ of the negative feeling-thought, as much as I ‘replace it’ with ones that will eventually allow, help or get me to feel the GOOD FEELINGS I want to feel.

Anything that anyone gives attention to, becomes true

Not to sound off the wall or flakey, but despite medical “facts” from
an mri and arthritic pain I cope with,I’m the landlord of this body and that
being a fact,I am evicting arthritus,and depression.

Once you get to know Twain, you’ll never be the same.
