Selfcare suggested that we make a personal playlist to share pieces of music that we really like. I have a very great love of music so this thread may get quite long over time. I promise you that there will be gems in here that will move you, whether it be to stir your heart, bring a tear to your eye, make you laugh, tap your foot, shake your booty, remind you of days gone by, or make you think. I’m not going to worry about attempting to organize this, I’m just going to post things as the mood strikes me. I know in my heart that if you click on the titles of stuff you’ve never heard of you will find lots of pleasant suprises as well as old familiar favorites.

I really enjoy the music of Bill Conti. You will recognize his music from Rocky.
Here is a very beautiful and stirring piece and one of my favorites.

Hear is a beautiful song by Mary Chapin Carpenter.
This Shirt
You will recognize this beautiful piece even if you don’t know it by it’s name. It is truly beautiful. Did you guys ever see “Coming to America” with Eddie Murphy? In the movie he was some kind of “royal” dude from Africa. In the morning, a small orchestra came into his room and woke him by playing music. This isn’t the piece they played, but wouldn’t it be a great way to wake up!
Here is Aaron Copland’s Simple Gifts
Here is another Copland piece you may recognize. It’s Hoedown from Rodeo. It’s pronounced Ro-day-o. I’m sure you already know that, but just thought I’d mention it. You never know when you’re gonna’ be at some high falootin’ dinner party with a bunch of music snobs!
I can’t skip over Copland’s Fanfare for the Common Man
Another stirring piece from a true genius.
Here is a very hypnotic piece by Ravel. You will recognize it from the movie “10”.
Bolero
This is a very nice interpretation, but the audio isn’t perfect. You should listen to it with headphones some evening, or perhaps a great bottle on a deck or balcony with someone special.
Here is a very beautiful piece many of you may not know about. It’s Humperdinck’s Overture to Hansel and Gretel
I truley stirring melody. I’ve heard better versions of this piece, but give it a chance, I think you’ll enjoy it.

This was the kind of music I was raised on besides so many others.
I really like this one
Scotland
Enjoy,
Mary
Very Nice, Mary! I can dig it, Baby! And I love the bagpipes too. Scotland is one of the most beautiful places in the world. I would love to go to the Tatoo some day.
You’re bagpipe post made me think of “Amazing Grace” from the Star Trek scene from Spok’s funeral, which in turn made me think of Jerry Goldsmith, a great composer who is no longer with us.
Here is a very unique piece by Jerry Goldsmith
Here is a beautiful Jerry Goldsmith theme from Papillon
I don’t know why, but that made me think of The Theme from Exodus

I love it too MCM you have such a unique style of music. I love music that is different. Here’s one Tex-Mex that I love so much. Freddy Fender on quitar and Flaco Jimenez on one of the accordians.
Hey Baby Que Paso
Freddy Fender
Enjoy,
Mary
I’m not usually a fan of remakes, but these are great. They were in a wonderful movie called “Duets”
Paul Giamatti and Andre Braugher sing Try A Little Tenderness
I’m not sure if it’s true, but I heard that they taped this as a practice run and it turned out so well on that take that it was the one they used in the movie.
Huey Lewis and Gwyneth Paltrow sing Smokey’s classic Cruisin
Great Voices, every one of them.
Gwyneth really does have a wonderful voice.
Just My Imagination
Here are a few more actors with great pipes.
Mel Brooks High Anxiety
Ellen Greene Suddenly Seymore
Johnny Depp Pretty Women
Julie Andrews When You Wish Upon A Star
Shirley Jones and Gordon MacRae People Will Say We’re In Love
and I can’t post that without posting this beautiful, beautiful song. Oh What A Beautiful Morning
That made me think of Robert Preston Chicken Fat
You probably remember him from The Music Man You Got Trouble
Dean Martin had style That’s Amore
Lesley Ann Warren can sing too. Baja Oklahoma
Bette Midley singing In My Life
Barbara Streisand Woman In Love
Haven’t posted anything in a while. How about a new playlist to make you feel good. For my old friends, if you are still here. Your head will bob, and you might even start tappin’ your foot! Flowergirl? You still around? This would be a good morning playlist!
Lovely Day
You Can Call Me Al
Xanadu
Sir Duke
Don’t Go Breakin’ My Heart
Silly Love Songs
Rock the Casbah
