We have some threads about various genres, but I couldn’t find on one soul music.
Check out Alice Clark I Keep it Hid and Never Did I Stop Loving You and It Takes Too Long To Learn To Live Alone
Walter Jackson Not You
Marjorie Black One More Hurt
Patti Austin Someone’s Gonna Cry
Clydie King The Thrill Is Gone
The Three Degrees Get Your Love Back

Thanks for this thread. It’s funny…sometimes I often have to be reminded to listen to a variation of appealing music. I am so grateful when I take action on things which bring additional joy(:
There is such melding in music …that sometimes I call music soul…when you can hear some of that soul influence…but in the past I thought of soul music as being simply synonymous with Motown(:
lots of music links missing-soon to replace
we have lots of soul music scattered on this site….and 1 soul-thread from 2009 that hadn’t gotten “too much” off the ground.. and many of those songs have been removed. Though, I can only speak for myself…but 1 can’t have too much soul(:

When I think of the “quintessential” soul music I think of folks like Al Green, Marvin Gaye and Aretha. Soul, R&B, Motown… they all kind of meld together, at least I think they do.
