There are some people on the site that want to post pictures in their threads, but don’t know how to do it.
If you guys want me to I can talk about how I use a free website called photobucket and also how I use some other free software to work with pictures.
I’ll show you how I do it. My intention is to be as clear as I possibly can so it may be boring or I may be redundant or overstate something. Bear with me. Hopefully, when I’m done anyone of you who wants to post a picture in your thread will be able to do it too.
And, of course, why is there a thread on bmindful about pictures. I thought this was a site about affirmations? Cause it’s a community, and bmindful is not a stuffy dictatorship. Just wanted to head that off at the pass.
Here are some of the programs and websites I’m going to be talking about.
Photobucket (Website)
FastStone (Software)
and maybe
PhotoXo (Software)
or one or two others.
First off, are there any particular questions you guys have? I am by no means a pc guru, but if you have any questions ask away. You will not sound dumb, I promise. If you don’t understand something, I can promise you that there are at least ten million smart people out in the world that don’t understand it either. I might not understand it myself, so maybe we can both learn something by figuring it out together.
Let me ask you guys some questions.
Do you have questions about how to download pictures from the internet or how to upload pictures from your camera to your pc? Do you know how to find files on your pc or how to create a new file folder? If you know these kinds of things we can get right into the other stuff, but if you have questions let’s figure em out.
If you don’t have any questions about anything I’ll just let this thread float around in cyberspace until someone does wants to know more about posting pictures.

Here are a few basics to jot down.
Your pics shouldn’t be wider than about 450 pixels.
I’m not sure, but I think the technical limit is 455 for bmindful, but I’m not certain.
Shoot for 450 or less for width.
There are lots of programs you can use to re-size pictures. FastStone is a good free one that you can download. You can also resize pictures online in Photobucket and most other photosharing sites. I just like to do it on my pc with a stand alone program like faststone for lots of reasons I’m not going into now.
There are these things called “direct links”. Basically, it is a web address where your picture is “online” that you are “pointing to” when you insert a picture into a post. It’s kind of like when you put a live link for a song from youtube in your post.
To insert a picture into a post you are going to insert the direct link between two exclamation points.
Maybe that will answer everyone’s questions, but if not, we can dive in deeper.
