More studies have been done that confirm the findings of the Milgram study. The people who administered the shocks were a representative group from the general population, in other words, they were “you and me”. That is the really troubling part. We humans get a lot of benefits overall from obeying authority, the trouble comes from ‘blindly’ following authority which is deeply engrained in us. We are told our whole lives to obey authority and it becomes almost automatic. My mind turns to the Jews who obediently got on the trains to go to the concentration camps. I can’t help but think of 1984 also.

Yes Jeff, that is some experiment. I remember it so well from school, that I wasn’t up to checking out the video you were sharing. It has always left quite an impression on my spirit to see/know of this. Thanks for reminding/sharing these ideas. It is indeed a wake-up to understand we must be awake and make decisions for ourselves…

MCM this video is sad but true. How many times have we done things against our will to please someone else or what society expects us to do. God bless those who can think for themselves and not follow the leader.
I remember seeing a special on Hitler and the horrific things he did to the Jews. One day the Germans invaded a town with one Jew fighting back and they sent out a German soldier to kill that man the soldier said he would not kill him he did not believe in murder even if they killed him for not obeying. I don’t know his name but what guts knowing well that he could be killed. Surprisingly they left him alone. Thank you for the reminder MCM.
