Hi Cookieman!!!
This is a video that is close to my heart. Here in California we have become a state that is bankrupt. We are getting ready to have a new governor since “Mr. Schwarzenegger’s term is up and he didn’t do such a good job. I have come to think that if each and every person were to start growing their own at least fruits and vegetables we could share with each other. This would allow us to have a little money to save.
We must be progressive if we want positive changees in our government. It is really up to us. I refuse to use self check out lanes in markets and in the post office they take away people’s jobs. People are losing their jobs right and left. We are too blame because we just go along like lambs to the slaugher. I stopped using the ATM’s because a bank teller told me that people are being let go of their jobs because they are not needed. This plan of instant gratification sure seems to be working for those who conjured up this idea. LET’S ALL STOP NOW!
Peace and love,
Mary
GC, you know I’m crazy about you, but “progressive” is the problem in my opinion. Progressive is about “planning”. Here is what I mean If you look at evidence comparing Keynesian economics and Austrian economics it will become more clear. Cuba, Argentina, the former Soviet Union are all examples of progressive government and it is the very road we are on. The European economies are in even worse shape than ours is and they are all modeled on progressive and Keynesian theory. The “stimulus” in a very real way creates recession, not growth and this is provable, but you don’t even have to take my word for it because there is a ton of real economic discussion (as opposed to political spin) on the subject. Look up some info on the Austrian school and the Keynesian school and you will come to your own logical conclusion. You may come down as a Keynesian, but I’ll bet you come down as an Austrian. Here is a little fun I found. Keynes vs. Hayek Rap

This is a very good point you’ve made Cookieman you are always filled with such great thoughts and I love it!!! From the beginning as little children we have a plan to set us up for life. Work, save your money, go to school get your certificate buy a house get married and then you are successful. I am having a hard time explaining what I mean. We can be self sufficient without following this “plan” but most of us are used to being told what to do. We are to march along with others. When we protest we are thinking out of the box and that is dangerous to those who run our economy.
For me if we all took care of ourselves we wouldn’t need any government controlling us. We need a license for everything except being a parent! When we were put on this Earth we were equipped with everything we need. Eath, water and seeds. That alone can keep us out of hunger and out of the cold. We could build our homes out of natural products that don’t cost too much. This way housing costs aren’t so terrible. But the plan is “some very rich people” dictate what is going to happen to us.
Bottom line those who are in power run our lives. Guess what we let them! We need to stop big Corporations!
Love and peace,
Mary

I found a series of podcasts that you can download for free on Austrian Economics from the Foundation for Economic Education. You have to have itunes installed. I haven’t listened to them yet. I’m downloading itunes as I type this.

Whatever we normally use in our kitchens. Think what do I use most of? and then go to your local nursery and buy the plants, organic is the best. My friend even has chickens and always has fresh eggs. I’ve heard of people do swapping as well. Here is a great example:
I like your new avatar. The Article Lee posted would be of interest to you I believe. It is thought provoking. I also think you would like City Journal TED and Slow TV too. Lots of interesting and thought provoking stuff.

Hi MCM I decided to change my name back until I can find one I really like. I really do like Ron Paul the man I campaigned for is Dennis Kucinich. He is a great guy but Big Corps would not let him speak in the presidential race for too long before they ran him out, he is brilliant. It would be great if he and Ron Paul are side by side. Then things would get going. Check out this video.
Kucinich is one of the few with real integrity. I tend to disagree with him about the role of government, but I do think he is usually right about foreign policy.
