In the last year of my mom's life-she was in a beautiful assisted living facility.
My mom had recently lost her sight... Though we told her the place was beautiful, and that was good enough for her. She trusted my hubby and I
and enjoyed our regular visiting
as though each was a celebration.
She truly loved life's little pleasures.
Even though she couldn't 'see' we watched tv together.
She grieved a lot since my dad -her hubby of almost 1/2 century had passed before her...
(you wouldn't know she was grieving -because this woman made 'the whole world smile' with her love and light.)
Hubby and self made everything we did for her, and with her a bit of a party.
After we did our usual -gift giving as we arrived... and she opened her special presents -that only she would love... we'd watch uplifting shows.
And that season -Touched by An Angel -was on the 'big list'
I can remember my hubby 'over-singing' with a good voice..(at the start and finish of each show)
though just exaggerated...
Each time, he did this it was though she had experienced his performance for the first time. It was a bit amusing, entertaining and emotional. So when I heard this song last night-it all came rushing back. Mom you live on in my life and in my heart always. This memory is for you
