Hi. I am 47 years old and live on an island off the central coast of Maine. I grew up here. Check out some pictures of Deer Isle, Maine, and you will see how beautiful it is here. I have been home for the past 4 years. Before that I was teaching art in the South in the town of Cheraw, South Carolina. Unfortunately, I have not been able to get an art teaching job in Maine, where I was hoping to reside. It has been a pretty competitive market. Since I have been back, I have done some work with austitic children and for the past five months I have been helping take care of my 90 year old grandmother who passed this weekend on Easter. I am glad I helped to make her wishing of being able to pass in her own home possible. I plan on remaining in Maine at least for part of the summer and am looking at which way I want to direct my future. I have thought about returning to teaching art but I really want to get a better match for my style than where I had been teaching. It was a real learning experience and I loved my kids but a lot my southern rural experience was not positive.
So, you know I am an artist. I really enjoy painting, mixed media and collage. I have also been taking a 12-week course on starting your own business. I have been exploring the field of professional organization and want to add a feng shui component to what I do. I love to organize and create environments that are positive, nurturing, and promote one’s well being. I am not sure if I will start here in Maine or go to Hawaii.
My beautiful, charming son Bryant, who is 27, lives in Honolulu and owns a gym called Crossfit Oahu. Now in its fourth year, he is expanding to open two more gyms and has other great ideas for it in the works. I so proud of him and amazed at his business acumen. So, Bryant has been talking about buying an apartment and letting his Mom rent it. I really want to get closer to him. It has been four years since I have seen him. I am hoping that he will hurry up and marry is long-time girlfriend. I want to be a grammie. Oh well, all in good time.
