How much of your life are you prepared to accept responsibility for? Most people it seems are willing to take at least a little responsiblity for at least some aspect or condition of their life. For example, you brushed your teeth this morning, you realise you did this. So, with this little thing you feel pretty comfortable with taking responsibility for it. But then maybe you "don't" take responsiblity for the fact that you can't afford the latest Galaxy smart phone you want, maybe you think someone else is to blame for that, maybe your parents, or the economy, or the banks, or your employer. In other words, you think there are some aspects about your life that are out of your control. Therefore, you believe you are correct when you don't take responsibility for everything about your life. But, what if you really are 100% responsible for "everything" about your life, including the smallest, seemingly most insignificant aspects all the way to the biggest most impactful things? I had an interesting experience this morning, I got into my car after finishing work and I was just leaving the carpark, when a whole line of cars came down the street, and so there I was, stuck for a minute, and the thought occured to me, what if somehow I created this? What if somehow I created the experience of me pulling out at just this moment so that I would get stuck like this? Now, just before I got into my car, I had noticed I wasn't in the best of moods (I had arranged to meet my wife but was running very late) So I was trying to put a positive spin on things, wondering what I could think that would put me in some noticeably better mood, but I wasn't finding any thoughts that would do it. But just as I got stuck there behind that line of cars, I wondered, what if my "bad mood" had created this moment of being stuck here? The idea of this struck me as quite hilarious and I laughed out loud, and my mood shifted, and just as my mood shifted (got a good feeling) a car slowed down and the driver waved to let me in. Coincidence? Hmmm, What if there are "no" coincidences? What if somehow we are creating every big, little, insignificant, impactful, life changing, note worthy, or hardly noticed experience we have? What if somehow, you are entirely responsible for everything YOU experience?

A friend recently told me how it seemed to her to be fairly "easy" to manifest a new carpet for her living room, as opposed to harder things. She said that even though she didn't have the money, she kept thinking she wanted a new carpet for her living room, so she visualized herself with a new carpet, and a few days later a friend of her moms gave her a nearly new carpet for free. She said she thought it was easy for her to manifest a new carpet because it wasn't an emotional matter. However, I have to disagree, I think "all" our wants are emotional matters (eg, she wanted a new carpet because she believed she'd feel better with a new carpet) Having a new carpet may seem easier to manifest, because you have very little resistance towards it, you don't feel bad about wanting a new carpet. Whereas, you may have a ton of resistance to something like financial wealth, (with limiting beliefs like, it's selfish to want a lot of money, you have to work too hard, money is the root of all evil) or loving relationships (I'm not attractive enough, I got hurt before, so I'll get hurt again, physical intimacy is scary) Affirmations are a great way to release resistance and get all our personal power focused in the same direction, instead of at odds. It's when we think, believe and feel we can have, be, or do something that manifestation seems to take on the quality of being EASY, it's when we're at odds with what we want that things seem to be hard. If we practice our affirmations at times when our guards are down, or our resistance to them is low, we can assimilate the ideas easier. That's why it's recommended to repeat your affirmations just before you fall asleep, and again just after you wake up, or after you've consciously taken the time to relax you mind, which is again, relaxing your resistance. By the way, some other ways that help us get all our personal power focused in the same direction are, reading inspirational, uplifting stories as opposed to a constant flow of bad news, imagining all the things that could go right as opposed to all the things that could go wrong, taking very good care of ourselves opposed to personal negligence, and creating relationships with supportive people opposed to energy draining, unsupportive people.
