I am a 48 year old gay man. I have been living with AIDS for over 25 years. I live in Minneapolis, MN since February’02, I am originally from the East coast. In 1995, I was diagnosed with a rare brain virus, PML. That diagnosis was usually an immediate death sentence, & I prepared myself to die. But I somehow survived, although I was left with some physical challenges. It has taken me a very long to accept the new me, & realize that I will never return to the man that I was before PML. I struggle a great deal with self esteem.
