“You are perfect for me, exactly the way that you are.”
A confirmation that I am the best possible me that could possibly exist brings great satisfaction deep in the soul. However as the turnover increases (balance b/t giving and taking), the bond b/t the two partners strengthens, and freedom diminished. When love is happy and fulfilled, of course, thats enough. There are people though, who value their freedom more, and they run away from this bond, which deepens with an exchange. Such individuals will hold the exchange to a minimum, which means they don’t get much but they have a lot of freedom. This freedom is empty.
This is taken from the Bert Hellinger book: Supporting love: How love works in couple relationships (2001) published by Zeig,Tucker and Theisan, page266.
Love is…
always a miracle… and its always fragile, like the most fragile, living thing…
we spend our entire life in search of it…
we pray for it, we read and study it, we discuss it, we analyze it, we categorize it, classify it, sing about it, write about it, cry and grieve its loss or absence…
most of us are defined by it… those hurt by it swear it off and tragically become bitter or indifferent, only to put their love and their need for love in to another passion which will not harm, injure, humiliate or abandon them.
and still, love exists! It never leaves us!
we are born with the need for love, and love is the only thing that we get to keep, to strengthen us, protect us, fortify us, nourish us, sustain us… even the hope of love will keep us alive…
Favorite Nelson Mandela quotes:
“As I walked out of the door toward my freedom I knew that If I did not leave all the anger, hatred and bitterness behind, that I would still be in prison.”
“May your choices reflect your hopes, not your fears.”
“If you want to make peace with your enemy you have to work with your enemy. Then he will become your partner.”
“I dream of an Africa which is in peace with itself.”
“For to be free is not merely to cast off ones chains but to live in a way that respects and enhances the freedom of others.”
“Courageous people do not fear forgiving for the sake of peace.”
“I AM the captain of my soul.”
In a moment of clarity, its really important to know others by their dreams, which is yet another capacity of knowing their values, their aspirations, their desires, their heart, personality, temperament… these things are vastly important. Its as revealing as looking at a bank statement or reviewing someones taxes. Its a road map of consciousness…
In response to Kathi’s comment: that’s a keeper quote(:
Favorite bible verse: 2 Cor 5: 1-5
5:1 For we know that if our earthly house is torn down, we have a building from God, a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens. For indeed, in this house we groan, longing to be clothed with our dwelling from heaven, inasmuch as we, having put on, will not be found naked. For indeed while we are in this tent, we groan, being burdened, because we do not want to be unclothed but to be clothed, so that what is mortal will be swallowed up by life. Now He who prepared us for this very purpose is God, who gave us the Spirit as a pledge. Therefore, being always of good courage, and knowing that while we are at home in the body we are absent from the Lord- for we walk but faith, not by sight- we are of good courage, I say and prefer rather to be absent from the body and to be at home with the Lord.
Act on it:
Knowledge is power, and action is results.
Take massive action.
Take consistent action.
Throw massive action at your problems.
Being smart is not enough.
We need to take consistent action and improve our results.
It is not enough to know what to do, you need to DO what you KNOW.

Without suffering, spiritual growth cannot happen. Suffering often accompanies death, but suffering is also a useful, beneficial condition of life. It is said that God loves those who experience suffering.
A person who leads a spiritual life cannot help but see that suffering brings him closer to God. Seen in this light, suffering loses its bitter side…
In order for LOVE to flourish, the light of your presence needs to be strong enough to no longer get taken over by the thinker (egoic consciousness) or the pain body and mistake them for who you are.
To know yourself as the being underneath the thinker, the stillness underneath the mental noise, the love and joy underneath the pain is freedom, salvation, enlightenment.
I am called forward by the things which unite us, as a community, and not the things that divide us.
I am called forward by LOVE, and by overcoming obstacles which create barriers to being connected.
I am strengthened and empowered by the courage to face my fears, and take down walls which separate me from my commitment to be connected to others.
I am empowered to love and to be loved…
2 Corinthians Ch 11 and 12:
11: v30 If I must needs glory, I will glory in the things which concern my infirmities.
12: v7-10 …there was given to me a thorn in the flesh… For this thing I besought the Lord thrice, that it might depart from me. And he said unto me, MY GRACE is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ’s sake: for when I am weak, then I am strong.
** Equality in patience and power: To the degree that I am willing to be weak, I am equally strong. Learn that: this is when God alone enables us. Prelude to great strength is great weakness. Don’t run from rejection or from poor treatment.
John 4:7-14. Jesus and the Samaritan woman
Now Jacob’s well was there. Jesus therefore, being wearied with his journey, sat on the well.
There came a woman of Samaria to draw water. Jesus said unto her, Give me water to drink.
The woman said, how is it that thou being a Jew ask drink of me, a Samaritan?
Jesus answered and said unto her, If thou knew the gift of God, and who it is that said to thee, Give me to drink;
thou wouldest asked of Him, and He would have given thee Living water.
The woman said, Sir there is nothing to draw with and the well is deep; from whence then has thou that living water? Art thou greater than our father Jacob, which gave us the well, and drank there of himself, and his children and his cattle?
Jesus answered, Whosoever drinks of this water shall thirst again; But whosoever shall drink of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life.
Favorite ABUNDANCE scripture Amos 9:13
“Behold the days come, saidth the Lord, that the plowman shall over take the reaper and the treader of grapes him that sowth seed; and the mountains shall drop sweet wine, and all the hills shall melt.
And I will bring again the captivity of my people Israel, and they shall build the waste cities and inhabit them; and they shall plant vineyards and drink the wine thereof; and they shall also make gardens and eat the fruit of them.
And, I will plant them upon their land, and they shall be no more pulled up out of their land which I have given them, said the Lord”
Favorite Martin Luther King quote:::::
“WE are now faced with the fact that tomorrow is today. We are confronted with the fierce urgency of now.
In this unfolding conundrum of life and history, there is such a thing as being too late… Over the bleached bones and jumbled residue of numerous civilizations are written the pathetic words “too late”…
NOW let us begin. Now let us rededicate ourselves to the long and bitter -but beautiful- struggle for a new world.”

FAVORITE QUOTES BY MARIANN WILLIAMSON!
Relationships are assignments. They are part of the vast plan for our enlightenment, the Holy Spirit’s blue print by which each individual sul is led to greater awareness and expanded love. Relationships are the Holy Spirit’s laboratories in which He brings together people who have the maximal opportunity for mutual growth. He appraises who can learn the most from whom at any given time, and then He assigns them together. Like a giant computer, He knows exactly what combination of energies, in exactly what context, would do the most to further God’s plan for salvation. No metings are accidental.
More quotes by Mariann Williamson.
Love is what we are born with.
Fear is what we learn.
The spiritual journey is the unlearning of fear and prejudice, and the acceptance of love back in our hearts.
Love is the essential reality and our purpose on earth.
To be consciously aware of it, to experience love in ourselves and others is the meaning of life.
Meaning dos not lie in things - it lies in us.
JOY is what happens to us when we allow ourselves to recognize how good things really are.
Marianne Williamson #3:
No one will listen to us until we listen to ourselves.
The practice of forgiveness is our most important contribution to healing of the world.
In the absence of love, we begin to slowly fall apart.
Just like a sunbeam can’t separate it self from the sun, and a wave can’t separate it self from the ocean, we can’t separate ourselves from one another.
We are all part of a vast sea of love, one indivisible Divine mind.
Until we have seen someone’s darkness, we don’t really know who they are. Until w hav forgivn someone’s darkness, we don’t really know what love is.
Mariann Williamson #4:
Something amazing happens when we surrender and just love. We melt into another world, a realm of power already within us. The world changes when we change. The world softens when we soften. The world loves us when we choose to love the world.
In the Holy relationship, its understood that we all have unhealed places, and that healing is the purpose of our being with another person. We don’t hide our weakness, but rather we understand that the relationship is a context for healing through mutual forgiveness.
*** Special Thanks to Mariann Williamson for healing words that have contributed to molding and aligning my heart, mind and Spirit.
Sharon Salzberg quote: I define happiness as a kind of resourcefulness. It’s a sense of resiliency and the ability to meet things without being defined by them. It’s a source of profound strength inside ourselves, which we don’t always realize we have. Also, happiness is our connection to one another, so we don’t feel cut off and alone.
THOUGHTS ARE FRIENDS “Thoughts are friends, not enemies. They’re just what is. They appear. They’re innocent. We’re not doing them. They’re not personal. They’re like the breeze or the raindrops falling. Thoughts arise like that, and we can make friends with them. Would you argue with a raindrop? Raindrops aren’t personal, and neither are thoughts. It’s the meaning you attach to those thoughts that you think is personal.” ~ Byron Katie
INSIDE OUT “Since the beginning of time, people have been trying to change the world so that they can be happy. This hasn’t ever worked, because it approaches the problem backward. What The Work gives us is a way to change the projector—mind—rather than the projected. It’s like when there’s a piece of lint on a projector’s lens. We think there’s a flaw on the screen, and we try to change this person and that person, whomever the flaw appears on next. But it’s futile to try to change the projected images. Once we realize where the lint is, we can clear the lens itself. This is the end of suffering, and the beginning of a little joy in paradise.”~Byron Katie
FREEDOM “I discovered that when I believed my thoughts, I suffered, but that when I didn’t believe them, I didn’t suffer, and that this is true for every human being. Freedom is as simple as that. I found that suffering is optional. I found a joy within me that has never disappeared, not for a single moment.”~Byron Katie
OCCUPY LOVE “I’ve heard people say that they cling to their painful thoughts because they’re afraid that without them they wouldn’t be activists for peace. “If I feel peaceful,” they say, “why would I bother taking action at all?” My answer is “Because that’s what love does.” To think that we need sadness or outrage to motivate us to do what’s right is insane. As if the clearer and happier you get, the less kind you become. As if when someone finds freedom, she just sits around all day with drool running down her chin. My experience is the opposite.Love is action.”~ Byron Katie
