When you worry about something, you try to solve it like a math problem. You begin to worry about what will happen, what can I do about it etc. But the truth is there is actually nothing to worry about. It’s just a misfunction of your brain, and you have to slow it down. Floating is the opposite of worrying. You are just ok with everything, you make nothing a problem. You flow through everything.

I had a girlfriend once who couldn’t stop floating. Escaping is fine sometimes but most problems actually require positive reaction to sort them out. If not, you will just float down stream continuously losing ground. The quickest route to poverty is to offer little or no resistance when confronted with a problem. My ex-girlfriend would say “go with the flow” and “be happy” and “I have no expectations of anyone, other than to be a good person”. The reality was that by offering these maxims she was actually freeing herself from the expectations of others and thereby eliminating her responsibilty to them. The greatest relief comes removing the thorn; not by pretending it’s not there.
