★★Creating my sanctuary

“Simplicity, patience, compassion.
These three are your greatest treasures.

Simple in actions and thoughts, you return to the source of being.

Patient with both friends and enemies,
you accord with the way things are.

Compassionate toward yourself,
you reconcile all beings in the world.”
-Lao Tzu-

Don't try to forgive.
Forgiveness is not a 'doing'.

Simply accept that this moment is exactly the way it is right now.
And the past was the way it was.

Accept your non-acceptance in the present.
Forgive your inability to forgive.
Feel your breath, the sensations in your body, the life that burns brightly in you.

Everyone is doing their best, even when it seems like they are doing their worst.
Everyone is dreaming or having a nightmare, battling with pain you may never understand.
You don't have to condone their actions.
You may not be able to wake them up.
You don't have to like what happened.

Simply let go of the illusion
that it could have been any different.
You are different now, anyhow.
Don't focus on something
you have no control over.
The past is a distant land.

Bring your attention back to this moment,
Your source of true power.
Your place of connectedness.

Wake up from the dream
That anyone has any power
To take away your inner peace.

Drop the need to be right.
Embrace the need to be free.
Come out of the story of 'my life'.
Reclaim the moment.

Be here, in your new life.
Show up for this brand new day.

This is forgiveness.

"How many years of beauty do I have left?
she asks me.
How many more do you want?
Here. Here is 34. Here is 50.

When you are 80 years old
and your beauty rises in ways
your cells cannot even imagine now
and your wild bones grow luminous and
ripe, having carried the weight
of a passionate life.

When your hair is aflame
with winter
and you have decades of
learning and leaving and loving
sewn into
the corners of your eyes
and your children come home
to find their own history
in your face.

When you know what it feels like to fail
ferociously
and have gained the
capacity
to rise and rise and rise again.

When you can make your tea
on a quiet and ridiculously lonely afternoon
and still have a song in your heart
Queen owl wings beating
beneath the cotton of your sweater.

Because your beauty began there
beneath the sweater and the skin,
remember?

This is when I will take you
into my arms and coo
YOU BRAVE AND GLORIOUS THING
you’ve come so far.

I see you.
Your beauty is breathtaking."

Slowing down doesn’t necessarily mean meditating. Slowing down means paying more attention to the space in your life – inside and out. It means not running off to the movie theatre or becoming a zombie in front of the TV whenever you have free time. Do something more natural to slow down: Take time to rock in a rocking chair or sit in the garden and look at the lilies.

Stopping By Woods On A Snowy Evening.

Whose woods these are I think I know.
His house is in the village, though;
He will not see me stopping here
To watch his woods fill up with snow.

My little horse must think it queer
To stop without a farmhouse near
Between the woods and frozen lake
The darkest evening of the year.

He gives his harness bells a shake
To ask if there is some mistake.
The only other sound's the sweep
Of easy wind and downy flake.

The woods are lovely, dark and deep,
But I have promises to keep,
And miles to go before I sleep,
And miles to go before I sleep.

Make a loving home within yourself.
One that feels beautiful to dwell in when all else falls away.
Kiss the dark corners, clear out the clutter and nourish each part of you with love and care.
If your flesh home has been left to become a haunted, deserted place, through self neglect; your mind may become frightened of the voices and feelings that come from it, you may begin to avoid contact with your heart and discredit your gut.
Times and spaces with softness, compassion, openness and no busyness may bring up a panic that makes you go and gorge on distractions, anything but to face the haunted, crumbled down house within.
Yet deep in you, you know that hiding from yourself is no longer serving you. This home, the one in your very centre, is waiting for you to come back, so it can teach you how to become an alchemist, how to realise your strength, your beauty and your power. This home is wanting to hold the weight of you, not the ghost of you, so it can carry you and guide you.
So it can be your holder your safety, your home.

"I feel that to grow into wellness a person needs to come home.

Come home to the two places that are the only homes they have.

These two homes can be the most loyal and loving nooks to reside in and they go by the name of ‘Nature’- the nature that is outside of themselves and within themselves.

If you do not make friends and learn to love them then surely you are lost.

If you do not open your heart to those two places then how can you learn to truly heal when the two homes you inhabit are filled with hate, disconnection, loneliness and shame.

If you choose anything on your healing journey, choose homecoming.
To come back to your body with a great love for all that you are, walking through the junkyard of loathing, through the tattered front door and into the very centre of you knowing you will learn to love and repair every part of that beautiful home.
Love the place that you were born onto, this beautiful natural earth, for it is such a gift of wellness that offers you so much in the way of medicine and life even when you have pretended not to see it.

Don’t spend your life lost and afraid to come home.
For this will only lead to you searching within another’s soul for something you are missing, and you will never find it in the pockets of another.

Your home is calling you back, waiting to awaken you to your precious life.
Come home."

"She sat at the back and they said she was shy, She led from the front and they hated her pride, They asked her advice and then questioned her guidance, They branded her loud, then were shocked by her silence,
When she shared no ambition they said it was sad, So she told them her dreams and they said she was mad, They told her they'd listen, then covered their ears, And gave her a hug while they laughed at her fears,
And she listened to all of it thinking she should,
Be the girl they told her to be best as she could, But one day she asked what was best for herself, Instead of trying to please everyone else,
So she walked to the forest and stood with the trees, She heard the wind whisper and dance with the leaves, She spoke to the willow, the elm and the pine, And she told them what she'd been told time after time,
She told them she felt she was never enough, She was either too little or far far too much, Too loud or too quiet, too fierce or too weak, Too wise or too foolish, too bold or too meek,
Then she found a small clearing surrounded by firs, And she stopped...and she heard what the trees said to her, And she sat there for hours not wanting to leave, For the forest said nothing, it just let her breathe"

My grandmother once gave me a tip:
In difficult times, you move forward in small steps.
Do what you have to do, but little by little.
Don't think about the future, or what may happen tomorrow.
Wash the dishes.
Remove the dust.
Write a letter.
Make a soup.
You see?
You are advancing step by step.
Take a step and stop.
Rest a little.
Praise yourself.
Take another step.
Then another.
You won't notice, but your steps will grow more and more.
And the time will come when you can think about the future without crying.

"She is a Storyteller
Once upon a time
There was a girl.
She believed in magic
She believed she could be anything she wanted to be.
She believed she would grow up and that all of her dreams would come true.
She believed she would have love, be love and give love.
She never doubted that belief.
She never doubted herself.
She danced.
She sang.
She played.
She dressed up.
She laughed.
She cried.
She wore her heart in her smile.
Close your eyes.
You can hear her laughter.
You can see her joy.
You can remember.
Once upon a time,
There was a young lady.
She tried hard.
She did her best.
She followed the rules.
She did as she was led to believe was right.
She found love, fell in love and lost love too.
She built a wall.
She forgot.
She worked.
She fell down.
She made mistakes.
She lost her voice.
She lost herself.
She found it hard to smile.
Close your eyes.
You can feel her pain.
You know her suffering.
You know that feeling.
Once upon a time.
There was a woman.
She felt something.
She heard the call.
It took a long time
For the right words to come.
She listened to her heart.
She listened to her soul.
She listened to her intuition.
She began to trust in herself, in the future and in her story.
She started to believe again.
She started to believe that all of her dreams would come true.
She started to believe that she had the magic.
She started to remember that she was love, could have love and give love.
She started to believe in herself again.
She threw away the doubt.
She danced.
She sang.
She played.
She dressed up.
She laughed.
She cried.
She wore her heart in her smile.
Close your eyes.
You can hear her laughter
You can see her joy
You can feel it

wise words by Louise Hay

"If you want to clean a room thoroughly, you will pick up and examine everything in it. Some things you will look at with love, dust off or polish to give them new beauty. Some things you will see need refinishing or repair, and you will make a note to do that. Some things will never serve you again, and it becomes time to let those things go. There is no need to get angry in order to clean a room, and it is the same thing when we clean our mental house. If a thought or belief doesn't serve you, let it go!"

"

This, to me, is one of the most glorious things that I can do. I love to keep my home clean and pristine, to decorate, to keep the energy in my home at sanctuary level. I use essential oils, incense, crystals, fresh flowers, art, and anything that brings me joy and comfort. My house is not only a home; it is indeed a sanctuary.
And I'm sure it goes without saying that love, peace, unity and music is part of the equation too."

"Patience visited me
And it reminded me
That good things take time to come to fruition
And grow slowly with stability
Peace visited me
And it reminded me
That I may remain calm through the storms of life
Regardless of the chaos surrounding me
Hope visited me
And it reminded me
That better times lay ahead
And it would always be there to guide and uplift me
Humility visited me
And it reminded me
That I may achieve it
Not by trying to shrink myself and make myself less
But by focusing on serving the world and uplifting those around me
Kindness visited me
And it reminded me
To be more gentle, forgiving and compassionate toward myself
And those surrounding me
Confidence visited me
And it reminded me
To not conceal or suppress my gifts and talents
In order to make others feel more comfortable
But to embrace what makes me me
Focus visited me
And it reminded me
That other people’s insecurities and judgements about me
Are not my problem
And I should redirect my attention
From others back to me
Freedom visited me
And it reminded me
That no one has control over my mindset, thoughts and wellbeing
But me
And love visited me
And it reminded me
That I need not search for it in others
As it lies within me." ~Tahlia Hunter~
