I am beautiful woman who is 52 years old and who feels and looks younger than my chronological age. Sometime ago I began meditation and it is this daily devotion that keeps me most grounded. But even with that I often struggle to maintain some semblance of balance and find myself feeling lack: lack of confidence, lack of money, lack of creative and interesting work, lack of energy…lack of whatever. When that happens I turn to a variety of self-help books and websites, or when really feeling desperate I call my guru who invariably helps me see through whatever feelings I’m having.

I realize there are many teachers in my life and many ways of learning, and it is affirmations that truly work for me. This is why I was excited to find this website. It’s a great place to find new affirmations and to share some of my own.

A couple of weeks ago I started a new exciting job in New York City, and typical to my past patterns, I’m finding myself doubting that I can do this job or that I’ll let everyone down. The typical “if they really knew me they’ll see that I’m not as good as they think I am” thoughts have been hitting me. Or “I just can’t concentrate, there’s too much to do and I’m so overwhelmed.”

Whew! So here I am again, working with more affirmations, taking it one step at a time, being conscious and sitting in meditations with gratitude and grace.
