In response to db’s comment: Let me know how it goes…(: The best to you!
Hey db…
Thanks for the comments on my profile!
I notice you’re a Canadian, I was just talking about Canada today as a place I would definitely like to spend some time once I’m done with my studies. The cool climate, and seemingly progressive and accepting people makes it incredibly appealing. I’ve had a couple of friends visit too, they’ve all come back confirming my thoughts!
Anyway, just thought I’d share. Thanks for being a part of bmindful!
Hey Lady_D,
Depends on the track , and the song itself . One smooth jazz group I enjoy is the Rippingtons, led by the guitarist Russ Freeman , who is an excellent composer, who really knows his craft, and is a great producer .
His sax player, Eric Marienthal is great solo artist, who also performs with many people like Chick Corea. I also like group a called , The Yellow Jackets, the keyboardist is Russel Ferrante .
They are a little more funky/fusion type jazz but all really great players and composers. I have some of the music scores to both these groups .The pianist Keith Jarrett I love. He is in a class of his own. I particlarily enjoy his solo piano concerts,He is out side of the smooth jazz category though.
I like many sax players, Dave Sandborn, Bob Mintzer, Wayne Shorter , Dave Koz, I listened to for a while, and Micheal Brecker who I met one time .
What about you , who do you listen to ?
Hey! I like the Rippingtons too! Along with Dave Koz, Huge Groove, Dave Sandborn, Gregg Karukas, Kirk Whalum, Mindi Abair, Shahin & Sepehr, Paul Taylor, Candy Dulfer, Bona Fide, and a few others. :-)
Been listening to Susan Boyle lately. Some of her songs remind me of Barry Manalio (Yea, I know. I’m spelling it wrong). I feel like she relates to the song she’s singing….as if she’s gone thru it herself. Like Barry. She puts her heart and soul into the song.
I really don’t pay that much attention to the artists anymore, only if I like the song. Used to listen to KHJZ-smooth jazz until they went HD and I couldn’t get the station anymore. Then my car radio died when Hurricane Ike blew thru. Someone broke a window and rain got in….radio hasn’t played since.
So. I just enjoy what music I do have. Need some new tunes though. :-) Been a while (a long while) since I bought anything new. And I don’t know how to download stuff.
Hi db! I just read your response to dinkledorfer’s dilemma and I found some advice that is useful and helpful to me. I, too, feel somewhat “stuck”, because in spite of doing affirmations every day, there still is a lingering worry about finances. Also, I want to change careers eventually, but am searching for the right combination of things that make me very happy. Thanks for your inspiring messages! AnnieB
Hi db gosh Ive just noticed all your affirmations! You have so many of them, heaps that when scrolling down to get to the bottom my computer screen went blank for some reason hehe I just wanted to say I think your affirmations are powerful and enjoyed reading the ones I stopped on and your thread on Soul Mate is very enriching, thank you for sharing…Kindest regards Denise
