How about an affirmation for someone in chronic physical pain—. Someone I know wants to focus beyond their physicality. Sometimes the statements have been on starting to see themselves as the pain—and the regular positive affirming often gets clouded with discomfort. Mind tools are many. Just curious about avenues others use….great affirmations others use…for physical pain..when the healing is less than cooperative.
what type of pain is it? ie. is it psychosomatic or is he a burn victim, for example?
i went through years of chronic back pain which really dimished my quality of life, i do have a scholiosis but a lot of it was pent up stress that i harboured in my body, Alexander Technique really helped me take control of that pain http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alexander_technique
there is a girl i have known ever since she was a little kid, i was the same age as her older sister and she always followed us around, during her adolescence she retreated into herself and stopped being her usual bubbily self, now she is 19 and incredibly anorexic to the point where she is fainting all the time, no one knows what happened and its tearing her family apart. she is incredibly bright and a very gifted artist but sometimes too much talent can destroy a person.
from what i’ve been told she looks up to me even though i’ve only seen her once in the last two years (most of that i was in south america) so i’ve been wondering how i could help and thought i could take her around Sydney introduce her to alot of my street artist friends and maybe get back into painting myself!
but then my dads friend who is a doctor specialising in eating disorders said that its best to not get involved, that things need to get much worse before they get any better and anythign short of her going to the hospital is just delaying the inevitable.
its funny how things have to reach rock bottom for most people before they are willing to change.
what type of therapy does he receieve and does the therapist know the root cause to the pain?
He has a wonderful unique specialist—and yes he knows quite well. I don’t have a great trust for physicians and their methods—but I do w/this one. He and his PA do not focus on medication and surgery. And The physical therapy is comprised of specialized exercises and massage.
The exercise raises the endorphins, raises blood flow in muscles, and certain motions to work on the nerves to reduce inflammation —like a flossing effect. The muscle was grabbing the nerve—but this will cause the muscle not to grab the nerve and become inflammed. It won’t be over night—but it is safe and we have hope.
Thanks for asking.
Hi Laurie,
I’d like to suggest you also look into EFT for your husbands pain.
Its based on accupuncture energy meridians and is simple to learn and done WITHOUT accupuncture needles.
It takes only a few minutes each day and will more than likely get to the core issue..which is almost always caused by…
yup..you guessed it..STRESS.
