★Themed Playlists: Create one.

I often go through other people’s playlists to find new music. We have a “song of the day” thread, but, here, create playlists according to a theme. Any theme. Believe it or not, playlists can help people. I went through tons of playlists back when my Mom died trying to find just the right songs for her funeral. A playlist like that can really help someone you don’t even know when they are going through a difficult time. We often think that only happy songs can help someone out of a funk, but, sometimes sad songs can do the same thing for someone. I don’t know why it works, but, it can. Maybe it has something to do with working through sadness. So, if some theme occurs to you and you are so inclined, have at it. You never know who is listening.

All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given us.

Hey there SRWE, spoke to a member or 2, your idea with this thread got me thinking and enjoying…enjoying thinking(:

And was trying to see how music could be created as another weekly thing…And Nancee suggested -how about a new theme each month. Thought everyone?(:

This is AWESOME!!!

“Radical Acceptance is the ability to face hardships with greater love and deeper awareness.
Contemplation shapes radical acceptance as a way to choose love and peace over anger and despair.
Begin by finding this within ourselves before helping others.

I went to see Barry Manilow last night so I thought I’d make a playlist. The tour is called Manilow – One Last Time. He’s 72, so I suspect this is his farewell tour. It was a great show. One of those where you knew almost every song. And he still has a strong voice. Manilow told the audience that he went to high school in New York and when he was there his high school was literally ranked as the worst high school in the country. He said that he joined the orchestra and he couldn’t express how it changed the trajectory of his life. Now, he does a lot to help schools get instruments. They always have a local instrument drive where they get people to clean out their closets and donate unused instruments. He donated a piano to a school in Bossier yesterday. I think he plans on doing that for each city he plays in. Anyway. Here are some of his great songs.

Tryin to Get the Feeling Again
Looks Like We Made It
It’s a Miracle
Could it be Magic
Can’t Smile Without You
Weekend in New England
This One’s for You
Even Now
Bandstand Boogie
I Made it Through the Rain
Ready to Take a Chance Again
Somewhere in the Night
Copacabana
I Write the Songs
