I could use your help for helping an old friend
I volunteered to help a friend (older woman, friend of the family, who lives far from me)w/affirmations. She is an intelligent woman who suffers w/physical ailments, and anxiety and depresssion. She has experienced some large losses in her life, and doesn’t believe she will ever feel ok. I saw that my enthusiasm on the phone was helpful, but I know if she had a good list of affirmations, it would change her life (no matter how old she is and contrary to her current beliefs).
I told her I send her a list of affirmations in a week, and if she likes them, I’ll send more. She said she’ll read the list on her tape recorder and listen before bed.
So could you all help me with my list for her. We can all make the list together, if you wouldn’t mind.

Oh you are such a darling Laurie! Your friend is so lucky to have you as a friend!
My affirmation would have to be “I love and approve of myself”. I have been having that one repeating over and over in my head this past week all the time. Its quite a strong one, curiousity of Louise L Haye

Laurie; How about putting the affirmation I HAVE VIBRANT HEALTH THROUGHOUT MY MIND BODY AND SOUL. It sounds as though this women needs complete healing, and send your friend all our best wishes too. :)
I like those affirmations! Send her my best wishes too. Does she have internet access? Tell her to join us!

No guys, she isn’t into computers. She is in her 80’s, and while I’ve been trying to get her to get one, it still hasn’t happened yet. Though, she does have a tape recorder;and ready and willing to use the affirmations I send her, I’m excited about the help you all are giving me for this wonderful lady. I feel I can easily send her new ones regularly for her to add to her very own affirmation tape, that she will make herself(:
And I will tell her about all of your wishes. I didn’t want to add to many details about her, to better keep her privacy. Though, what I’ve said describes her situation pretty well.

I’m behind in sending my friend a list of affirmations. If you get a moment and can think of some more, I’d be so grateful(:

Have her create her own personal affirmation.
Ask her what she’ll do as soon as she feels better. Ask her about the details of that. Like if it’s the smell of salty air at the beach she wants to visit. Or an old friend’s cooking. Then create the affirmation. “I can almost smell the ocean”.
or if it’s to walk again in the park. “I can almost hear the birds.” or “I love smiling to strangers in the park.”
Whatever it is she really wants to do, make an affirmation out of that.

She doesn’t believe she will feel better. Though, maybe I can get her to try it as an exercise(: Though, thank you, I will suggest it(:
