a recent study by british psycoligists has come to the conclusion that ghosts simply do not exist.magnetic fields, low lighting or just a chill in the air may trigger feeling that a presence is in the room.but thats all it is a feeling.hundreds of volenteers were led by reseachers around 2 of britains supposedly most haunted locations.according to the study the haunting feeling does exist but the ghosts dont.so im wondering if anyone has had any unexplained or unusual inexplicable experiences.do you believe in ghosts.
the study seems to be offering nothin new.for example does it explain photographic/audio evidence.explaining how people may feel in certain places is not the same as saying ghosts dont exist.maybe some sightings can be explained by natural phenomena but what about the ones that cant.
i dont personally think ghosts exist.i agree that if a place is supposed to be haunted this will put people more on edge causing them to sense things that are not really there.we all know that the human mind is powerful and can dream up pretty much any thing.and i think this is how ghosts come to be.
i like to believe we are surrounded by another dimension.normally we cant see or feel this dimension but occasionly we do get a glimpse.whether this dimension is a spirit world where we all go after death i dont know. but im convinced there is another dimension.
albert einstein proved that all energy of the universe is constant and that it can be neither created or destroyed.so what happens to that energy when we die.if it cannot be destroyed could it be transformed into another form of energy ie a ghost
when we die.the energy in our body simply goes back into the enviroment.this energy is releashed in the form of heat and transfered into the bacteria that eats our corpse and on this principal when we eat meat we are consuming that animals energy.the energy can not be destroyed it simply gets passed around.
I guess we should define ‘ghost’.
Ghost
The spirit; the soul of man.
The disembodied soul; the soul or spirit of a deceased person; a spirit appearing after death; an apparition; a specter.
Any faint shadowy semblance; an unsubstantial image; a phantom; a glimmering; as, not a ghost of a chance; the ghost of an idea.
A false image formed in a telescope by reflection from the surfaces of one or more lenses.
To appear to or haunt in the form of an apparition.
“We are not human beings having a spiritual experience, but spiritual beings having a human experience.”
Teilhard de Chardin 1881 – 1955
Your post brought Spirits in the Mater World to mind. The song was on Ghost in the Machine. Here is a bit from wiki about Ghost in the Machine from which the album got its title.
And, what about the idea that a actual machine/computer/robot/android could become self-aware? What exactly is it that makes something alive?
Have you ever been in your house and heard someone who has passed say your name? I have, and on more than one occasion. I realize, of course, that it may have been my imagination, but, I have heard my mother say my name since she died. It wasn’t scary in any way, but the thing about it was that it didn’t feel like it was imagined whether it was so or not. It felt real, it felt like there was an actual voice saying my name, a very specific voice – my mom’s. I wasn’t consciously thinking about my mother at the times that that occurred either. I’ll bet lots of other people have had that experience.
All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given us.

I’m Alright
Life Less Ordinary#
from a recent bbc report.it is now believed that hearing voices in your head is so common that 1 in 25 people regulary hear voices in their head.indeed many who hear these voices says the voices have a positive impact on their lives, comforting or inspiring them.some who hear voices describe itas being like the experience of hearing some one call your name only to find no one is there, some also hear voices as if they are thoughts entering the mind from some where outside themselves.
i like this.there is such a horrible stigma attached to hearing voices when it is proberly a normal human experience.
i agree that it is a normal human experience and the stigma attached to it stops people openly talking about it.i personally love the idea that these voices are the spirits of our departed loved ones guiding us through differcult moments in our lives.its wonderful to think our loved ones are always with us.blessings mara.
“departed loved ones guiding us” my own personal belief is when we die the only thing left behind is a pound of soot.but im not knocking this belief as i guess for the grieving this could be comforting.although maybe facing up to the reality would be a quicker route to healing.
do you believe we receive messages from our deceased loved ones,do you believe there is life after death.is it possible that people who have died are trying to send us messages to let us know there is life after death.
blessings.
i do regulary dream about my mom, these dreams are all ways very vivid, maybe these are just dreams, but they all ways leave me feeling comforted,i hope it is my mom visiting me,because i do miss her ive made a right mess of my life since she died,so im know im in for a bit of rollocking, but i dont mind.its a nice thought that one day we could be together again.
...I love to think…but I don’t like to over-think some areas. If I feel my mom’s presence …her warmth…her smile…in a dream…in my heart…in my thoughts…in my life…who am I to say what lives on and how? I believe my folks…their Goodness & Warmth are ‘somehow’ with me & will continue and that is is good enough for me. I am thankful to God for all of my experiences. Thank you Mara for this thread, and for all who contribute to assist bmindful in the beautiful community that it is(:
