aw cookieman i wish i had sound on my pc to listen to them .i love country songs especially Annies Song by John Denver .I need lessons for linking things ,love flowergirl

can anyone recomend a female country/folk/hippie type singer i might like ,someone like Dolly Parton ,Mamma Cass and not specifically religious but spiritual .

I have heard a couple of Eva Cassidy songs and she had a lovely voice .
As part of healing /growing im trying out different music,colours etc .Unfortunatly i cant listen to them on here as we have a silent p c but trust your judgement and can download a couple onto my i pod or even invest in a c d ,love flowergirl

Mmmmmm… what about K.D. Lang, or Carole King. Edie Brickell maybe. Janis Joplin? You might like Mary Chapin Carpenter. Michelle Shocked. The Indigo Girls are great. Also, Sara Hickman, Shawn Colvin, Tracy Chapman, I’m sure I’ll think of some more.

Also, look at your computer and see if you have a headphone output. It could be on either the front of back of your pc. If you have one you can plug your headphones into your computer. Most computer have a soundcard built in. Do ANY sounds come out of your computer? Have you ever heard a beep or anything? If so, then your computer has a soundcard and at least a tiny speaker. Most soundcards have an input and output that you can get to. The headphone jack might be green. A mic jack might be red. I hope you have one.

aw thanks so much for your suggestions .Our computer did have sound when it was new but somebody spilt something liquid and it has never worked since – we tried different headphones and speakers but it refuses to cooperate !love flowergirl

Oh, wow! I can’t forget Rickie Lee Jones. She is one of my favorites. Melody Gardot is a cool jazzy female vocalist I dig. I’ll think of some more if I can.

You can get a pretty basic sound card for around $15. IF it is your soundcard. Do you have a friend that knows anything about computers? Do you know how to open up “Control Panel” on your computer?

Also, if you know a computer geek there is a good chance he has some old computers laying around. Ask him for an old soundcard, you can probably find one for free if you ask around.

thanks ,i have a friend who is great with p c s so will ask her,she did have a quick look once and couldnt understand what was up with it .I am totally dim when it goes beyond email or chatting ,oh and i can google images but thats about it .
