The Vision Board Slide Show ~

Many people, myself included, like to use a vison board. Having a vision board to look each day will help you in many different, exciting ways and can aid you in gaining the inspiration you need, when you need it. It will also help keep you in motion as you take the needed action steps to achieve your goals. It serves too, as a reminder, when other influences enter your life and tempt you in a different direction other than your vision. Although, it’s always good to keep an open mind. “This or something better for the greatest good of all concerned”, can apply here as well.

A vision board can also enhance your focus and help direct and transform the many varied choices of the different visual images you will make into belief. It will also help create empowering thoughts, for both your conscious, and subconscious minds to make use of, as you follow your intuition in your daily life.

A vision board will help remind you exactly what it is that you are seeking to create in your life on many levels. It can be a source of self support and a visual re-affirmation of your intention to create a new wonderful life for yourself and those you care about. It can also be a whole lot of fun and a beautiful thing to behold.

While many people use pictures and words cut out from magazines and other sources, others may draw or paint to create very personal visual statements. These all can be attached or pasted on to some kind of “board” or put into a book format. All these diverse methods are effective and utilising different media in many different formats can be another approach to use as a adjunt to a primary vision board experience.

There are also different kinds of vision board software available and some people also like to use inspiring pictures for their desktop. Some internet sites provide a kind of simple form of digital vision board for its members to use in a profile kind of setting.

There is however, a very effective way a digital vision board can be created by using your computers operating system, and it’s free…The Vision Board Slide Show.

First, create a new folder on your desktop, call it, “My New Folder” for now. You can change the name later to anything you want . Next, open that folder and create another folder inside and name it… “VISION BOARD SLIDE SHOW”.

Then get online and go to “Google Image Search”, and choose the pictures and words and affirmations and anything else you want to include. The sky’s the limit. Try many different kinds of keyword searches, both definite, and non specific… Surf:)
Let your imagination go wild!

Pick anything and everything you want happen in your life . You can even think of it as a kind of visual way to write down your goals . Don’t be concerned about having too many images because you can always change or delete them as you so desire later on . It can be an ongoing process. Just as your goals will change, so too can your digital slide show visionboard.

Once you have selected the image you want to save and use, choose the “Save as” command, in the drop down menu under the “File” heading in the menu bar, at the top left of your screen.

If the name that it would be automatically saved as is unsuitable or already taken, such as “untiled”, give it a new name that you find to be either, a description of the picture or words itself, or simply a number or a letter of the alphabet or both.

This can be useful for several reasons. First for changing the order of the pictures in the slide show should you decide it does look or feel right or if you want in a certain order or sequence.

Changing the name or number of the image , or the first or second letters , if there are two similar entrees with the same starting number or letter ,in your visionboard slide show, changes the “catalogue sequence order” .

For example, if you have a picture of an apple, the “A” in apple will cause it to be placed at, or near the beginning of the slide show . Putting an “X”, in front the name apple, will cause the computer to change the position of the image to near the end of the sequence, as in “X” being near the end of the alphabet and the same goes for numbers, as well. It’s also fun to just save them with whatever the original name of the image is. It really interesting sometimes ,to see how they all look in relation to each other. Sometimes its a real suprise in the way that it feels to you, when you first see it in an order. You will need to quit, or exit the folder for the order of sequence changes to take effect.

Once you have a few images chosen, go to the “VIEWS” icon, in the second row just under the menu bar and choose, “FILMSTRIP”, from the drop down menu.

There is just one more step left to do and then you will be able to have your very own VISION BOARD SLIDE SHOW to enjoy.

Look at the large box at the top left of your screen, located just under the “BACK “ green arrow. Select and click the second item labled ,“View as slide show. WAtch what happens. All the images you saved will now be shown as a sequental slide show , full screen. Each image will be seen for a few seconds and then move on to the next image to the right. If you want to view them faster, just use the right and left arrow keys on your computer key board to scroll through them .

If you want to get an overview of your what your image visionboard catalog contains, just revisit the “VIEWS”, icon and change it to “thumbnails to get an glimpse of what it contains.

I use everything from mandalas, to affirmations , pictures of houses, concert halls, stages, recording studios, buddhas, book covers, cars, flowers, people meditating and exercising, jet planes, grand pianos, restaurants, money, a new green shoot peeking out of the soil, places to visit , inspirational quotations, a clock, luxury hotels , travel and images of abundance , artistry, spirituality and good health.

Sometimes I go back later and think , no ,that doesn’t look quite right. I then delete the entry and add another one later. It’s similar experience to writing down 10 or 15 goals in words. Only here, it’s done with images.

Oh yeah , I even have a picture or two of my Soulmate just to complete the picture. It all helps to keep me moving forward especially on a day when I need some real motivation. I look at the “VISIONBOARD SLIDE SHOW” and I get back to work .

You can even play some music you enjoy in the backgroud. Just slip a CD into your computer or play a audiofile from your computers hard drive. You can even open up another window and go to “bmindful “, and read your affirmations aloud as you watch the show go by!

Since it is always a good idea to put your vision board right in a place where you can view it easily , what better place is there than right in front of you, on your computer. You are already here, aren’t you.

Your … “VISION BOARD SLIDESHOW”, is just a click away!

That’s about it . Enjoy:)
