Everyone knows someone who has sugar issues..This thread is all about sugar.
Post wonderful links, article ideas, everything and anything that keeps your sugar totally balanced.
Note: You do not have to be diabetic to watch your sugar. Not only will keeping your sugar balanced if your diabetic, pre-diabetic, or simply sugar sensitive be a great healthy idea, but also for anyone making healthier choices.
There will be links discussing all aspects of staying sweet while not upping your sugar(:
I do not like sugar substitutes, and rarely add any sugar to my food.
I have had cookies with maltilol, that didn’t bother me negatively, as some people are with some sugar alcohols. Aunt Gussie’s are my favorite’s. Big delicious selection
I recently found one (natural) substitute that seems to be making the grade for someone I know. It’s called (organic) erythritol, and marketed by Whole Foods as Zero. It has a better reputation than other sugar alcohols..I’ll post more info on it soon. This person spelled it out as I would’ve said it
plus contained some non-over-glorified remarks, which I also agree with.

I agree Flowergirl. Sugar is addictive and can become a substitute for a other addictions, such as alcohol or cigarettes. Its moreish nature makes it seem impossible to stop once started – or if possible, it takes LOADS of willpower and self restraint – which is a form of deprivation. Why should any one deprive themselves of simple needs and wants? The best way to keep sugar levels to controllable amounts is NOT to deprive youself. Thats leads to binges. So a little of what you fancy is key. Listen to your body so you dont go bazerk!
I like your cut up fruit and peppermint tea idea. Also other teas great for keeping cravings down are Fennel and Galangal, which are appetite suppressants – kinda like what smoking does. So its a healthy replacement for cigs!

Thats ok flowergirl. You need to accept that this is the way you feel at the moment. I too have addictive behaviour so I can identify with the sugar thing. Also the caffiene will fuel this so try and stick to herbals where possible. Treat yourself to a hot bath and some self-love pampering. You wont feel like raiding the choccie box as much then. Also, when you do indulge, do it with love for yourself – NOT guilt! If you are telling yourself its wrong, you ‘entertain’ the addictive part of the brain even more and therefore want to over indulge.
I hope you feel better soon. Sending you love and peace of mind – and an extra big hug! x
Hey, maybe I should try and send you a rainbow from my heart as DB describes on prayer/healing thread! Here’s goes….

OMG, your Dr. says sugar doesn’t affect mood, and it doesn’t have some form of addictive-ness to it..Whew..I will be back on this one..but TOTALLY disagree with your doctor.
I will post some links soon(:
We need sugars..but the right kinds, in the right amts and the right times.
Sugar in the wrong forms and the wrong amts. at the wrong times (and more true for some than others) is Poison.

Where are you from flowergirl? It’s neat to me that you say “tin” instead of can and “lads” instead of boys.

I know someone has been affected by sugar issues. Indulging self pleasures, in my opinion is often given too much room..which is where lots of health problems come from.
I don’t believe we should deprive ourselves of sugar as though it is arsenic. Though we should educate ourselves on the power of chemicals we distribute in our body.
I heard an analogy today.
If you had a prize winning race horse, what would you do to care for him? Would you find out what a horse eats that promotes health, and measure each serving? Or would you only give sugar, because he seems to love it?
We treat pets better than we do ourselves.
I sound like the parent I never wanted to listen to lol.
I always thought when I become an adult..I’ll eat whatever I want..I won’t have to listen to someone telling me about the value of going to a gym, or finishing my vegetables.
As you get older, you find out the ticket to happiness has much to do with your health.
There are so many cool ways you can use parts of your personality that don’t get honored —in doing things you’d rather not do.
If you have an addictive personality
-get addicted to self care.
If you are creative, and have no time for creative outlets, create fun ways to take care of you.
If you love to shop..
Love the grocery store, with healthy choices.
If you love to read, read about how precious your life is..And we only get 1 (that I know of) lol.
Part of self care is feeling good about ourselves. And the rest is being good to ourselves..with choices.
Choices do not have to feel like your sacrificing or leaving out the good stuff.
It just may mean—it’s time to redefine the good stuff.
I’m a firm believer, to correct things with food, prayer, attitude and exercise.
The world is over medicated..
Start with the basics, treat yourself well..so life treats you well.

Congratulations!!!!!!! While you may feel bad, you got the lesson that keeps on giving. Write about what happened when you ate various foods. It sucked, huh?
It doesn’t have to reoccur. Don’t think about perfection, or keeping up disciplines forever. Just think of today..this moment.. In this moment, how would you like to feel? What kind of behaviors will you have to begin, do more of, or do less of, or stop all together to get you where you want to be.
Reinforce everything that you find out that works for you.
Are there things you want to learn more about?
On of the coolest thing we have today..that costs no more than the money you’re already laying out..is the infamous web. We did not have this gift growing up…its like a magic answer box(:
The web is the kind of thing we’d see on a futuristic cartoon or a sci-fi show. It was a fantasy..if only I could find out how to…If only I could find some idea to take me to the next level.. Any topic..All of the things we couldn’t get out of a class in school, or from early mentors, is here and more…It’s your own genie. So make a wish..(google what you’re trying to learn)...and sift away..Then make your plan..and use us here for support..to be right here this moment just for you..
You can find things to read, visual effects for your vision board..bond/connect with those walking your walk..You have everything you need to be where you want to be. You are right where you need to be. Congratulations Flowergirl!!!!!

There’s a great little free program called Teamspeak that would be really cool to use on bmindful, but it might make people less inclined to “post” their thoughts and, hence, sort of work against the purpose of the site, but still it’s a cool thought. Gamers use teamspeak to speak to each other in real time while they are playing games online. Wouldn’t it be neat to hear each other’s accents?
